There are two quick knocks on the door before Riley sweeps inside. Her pixie-cut blond hair bounces with each step.
Her blue eyes sweep over us, taking in the scene in a heartbeat. “Time to get ready. The venue’s buzzing, and we’ve got fans lining up already.”
I pull her into a tight hug and whisper, “Good timing. I don’t know what the energy just was, but it was strange.”
She laughs. “You’ll probably have to get used to that.”
She pulls back and pushes them off the bus. “Time to go!”
We spill out of the bus together, and the venue vibrates with life until we get to the dressing room.
My stylist pulls me into the changing area and starts getting me dressed immediately with Riley’s help.
They’re tugging the hem of my black leather skirt higher up my thighs when Riley declares, “You’re going to burn down the stage tonight.”
“You say that no matter what I’m wearing,” I point out.
She laughs. “That’s because it’s always true.”
The makeup artist grabs me as the guys are shuffled back to change. She gives me a smoky eye, bold lips, and the perfect amount of blush.
I look incredible, and I feel confident.
“Oli, you look—” Chase starts as he pops his head in, but the words get lost somewhere between his throat and his lips. Instead, he gapes, his usual charm short-circuiting.
“Damn.” Jack’s voice follows, low and appreciative, as he leans against the doorframe. His eyes sweep over me once, twice, like he’s committing every detail to memory. “I’m not sure the whole world should get to see you like this.”
“It won’t be her first time looking this sexy,” Riley points out, making me laugh.
Aiden peeks in behind them, a blush coloring his cheeks as he stammers out a quiet, “Wow.” His gaze lingers shyly on mine before darting away.
And then there’s Dax, standing a few feet away, removed from the cluster of bodies crowding the doorway. He doesn’t say anything, but his eyes—they speak volumes, dark and intense as they take in every exposed inch of my skin. It’s a look that makes me shiver, igniting a thrill that has nothing to do with the performance ahead.
“You four look great, too,” I say, standing up to walk past them and sit in the central area full of couches. They follow and take up positions around the room.
They really do.
Jack is dressed to kill as he leans against the wall with his lips quirked into a confident smile.
His lean, muscular form is wrapped in a sleeveless black jersey for the baseball team of the city we’re in. It contrasts his white hair and clings to him like a second skin, accentuating his broad shoulders and sculpted arms.
His lower half is poured into a pair of tight, dark jeans that should come with a warning label. They hug his thighs just right, leaving very little to the imagination, while thestrategically placed rips make it hard to tear your eyes away.
Jack stands upright and winks at me. “When I step out there, they won’t be looking at me—they’ll be looking at you.”
“It should be illegal to wear something so sexy it could distract your new bandmates,” Chase adds.
Chase is wearing leather pants that emphasize the lean muscle of his thighs. The pants taper down to his ankles, where they tuck seamlessly into black boots. He’s wearing a deep V-neck white shirt that exposes the right amount of chest, just enough to tease and tempt. Although he won’t have it on for long, he rips it in half after the second song and plays shirtless the rest of the night, showing off the defined abs and tattoos I got to see in rehearsal.
His sandy brown hair is tousled perfectly, a few strands rebelliously falling over his forehead, begging to be brushed away by someone’s fingers. His green eyes catch mine, and there’s that signature smirk, the one that says he knows exactly what effect he has and isn’t afraid to use it.
Heat creeps up my cheeks, and I swat at his arm playfully. “Shut up.”
I need a better response than that, but it’s all I can think of, so I turn my attention to the safest member of The Edge, Aiden.
He’s quieter and more reserved, but when I look at him now, there’s no denying how sexy he is. His spiky black hair contrasts with the softness of his brown eyes, creating a perfect balance of edge and vulnerability. Tonight, his huge body is stuffed in a fitted black shirt that hugs his toned torso. Sleeves rolled up to his elbows to reveal defined forearms. Black jeans complete the look, simple yet effective, and somehow, it amplifies his naturalallure.
He’s a mystery to the fans, and they love it.
