“Would that work for you two?” I ask, already knowing the answer.
Oli bites her lip, pondering for a moment before nodding. “Yeah, that sounds like a good compromise. I will feel safer that way.”
“I’m not used to this world, so I will follow your lead,” Cate says kindly.
“Alright then,” Dax chimes in, his voice husky with that alpha authority but softened by relief. “Security goes with you both. And everyone’s happy.”
With a few more nods and murmurs of agreement, the room’s atmosphere shifts from tense to lighter, as if we’ve all just exhaled a breath.
As the discussions settle down and plans are laid out, I lean back on the couch, watching the easy interactions and laughter between Oli and Cate as they whisper and giggle over their spa strategy. Their brightness contrasts with the solid strength of the alphas in the room, creating a perfect balance.
“Hey, Chase,” Oli calls, snapping me out of my thoughts. “You’re zoning out on us. Daydreaming about drum solos?”
“Something like that,” I say, my lips curving into a smile. “Just thinking about how lucky I am to have you all here.”
“Cheesy,” Jack teases, but his eyes are warm.
“Group hug?” Oli suggests, and even though it’s met with playful groans, nobody hesitates to shuffle closer.
“Bring it in,” I say, spreading my arms wide.
My pack, my omega, and my sister all hug each other, and it is a perfect moment for me. One I didn’t ever think I would have.

MAY THORNTON SPOTTED IN CALIFORNIA. POLICE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE, BUT SHE DISAPPEARED BEFORE BEING ARRESTED
July 2nd
“We have a surprise.” Jack playfully nips at my earlobe. His laughter rumbles in his chest, the sound pressing against my back, where he’s wrapped around me like a living blanket.
“You’re making me nervous,” I retort, but I can’t help the giggle that bursts from my lips. Chase’s warm hand finds mine, giving it a reassuring squeeze. He winks at me, the sandy brown locks falling over his forehead.
“Trust us, Oli,” Dax grumbles from ahead, though the softness in his hazel eyes betrays his gruff tone. Even Mr. Grumpy Alpha can’t hide his excitement.
I bounce a little on the balls of my feet, trying to peer around Dax’s broad shoulders. Aiden chuckles from beside me, his quiet presence like a steady beat, grounding me amidst the chaos of our pack.
“Alright, no more teasing,” Jack says as we reach the last step. “Prepare to be amazed, Oli Hart.”
My heart races, anticipation licking at my insides like an open flame. I’m nearly bouncing now, every fiber of my beingstretching toward whatever mystery waits in the shadows of the basement. These alphas, my alphas, know how to light up my world in ways I never thought possible.
“Come on, come on!” I urge, tugging on Chase’s hand. Our fingers are laced together, the heat from his skin fueling my own fire. I want to see what is in their basement!
They’re all so excited to show me. I wonder if it’s a kinky sex room?
“Patience, angel,” Dax says, and there’s a warmth there that wasn’t present when we first met. It’s amazing, really, how far we’ve come and how much we’ve melded into each other’s lives.
“Easy for you to say. You already know what’s waiting for me!” I pout playfully, sticking my bottom lip out just enough to earn a round of affectionate eye rolls from my mates.
“Okay, okay,” Aiden intercedes, always the peacekeeper. “We’re here.”
As the door swings open, the dim light of the basement gives way to something hidden beyond my sight. I can’t help the gasp that escapes me or how my pulse quickens with curiosity.
The door fully swings open, and I’m standing on the threshold of a recording studio that gleams with a polish that’s out of place in our work-in-progress house. Microphones stand poised like silent sentinels waiting for their performers, and guitars hang on the walls, promising a symphony of sound.
“Whoa,” I breathe, each detail etching into my memory. Soundproof foam lines the walls in geometric patterns. At the edge sits the mixing console, its buttons, and sliders an intricate dance under soft, ambient lighting.
