“Let it happen, Mia.”
He dove back in, sliding two fingers inside as his mouth owned her, savoured her. She had no choice, other than to tilt her pelvis and surrender, sparkles exploding behind her eyelids as she came apart. Wave after wave pulsed through her, filling her with delicious, shivery pleasure but not bringing her back down. She was too charged.
“More,” she gasped. “I need more. I need you.”
She registered him pulling on the condom and glimpsed at the impressive size of him. If she’d been younger, and not swimming in a sea of endorphins, she might have felt scared. But not now. She sat up on the edge of the bed and reached for his length, hard like marble, urging him closer. He climbed on her, gently teasing the slick, swollen flesh.
“You ready?” He panted and she moaned from sheer anticipation, never having wanted anything so shamelessly.
He sunk into her, pushing the air out of her lungs and groaning in a way that made her insides flip. She wanted to see him lose control, stop holding back and take everything. “Harder,” she whispered, raising her hips to meet him.
Hunger darkened his eyes. He sat up and scooped her onto his lap so she straddled him. He blinked, soft and unfocused, eyes glazed with lust and... something more. Something deeper. “I don’t want this to be over.” His hands tightened around her hips and she felt blood pumping into him as he pulsed inside her, holding back.
She weaved her arms around his neck, tasting his neck, inhaling him. “It’s not over. This is only the beginning.”
“Promise me.”
She pulled back to look at him and the raw emotion behind his eyes shot straight into her heart. “I promise,” she whispered, closing her mouth on his, tasting him like he’d tasted her, with a relentless appetite.
He hardened a little inside her, making her tremble from pleasure. She couldn’t resist the tempting friction and bucked against him.
Pushing him on his back, she settled on top of him, enjoying the view of that mile-wide chest. Watching his glassy eyes flutter, she rolled her hips, savouring the way he filled her. He gripped her buttocks, trying to slow her down. But she wouldn’t stop, moving faster and faster, forcing him to surrender.
“Mia. Mia.” Izzy’s body tensed and she lowered herself on him, relishing the moment of his release, rocking until her own arousal reached a new peak. The luscious sensation coursed through her, as powerful as the first one but soft and satisfying, a full unravelling that left her twitching against his chest, wanting nothing.
After a few minutes of catching her breath, she rolled off him, careful of the condom. Izzy turned to his side, resting his hand over her waist, his eyes misty but with a lazy smile on his lips. “I can’t let you fly away, I’m sorry. I’m just going to lock you in here.” He nuzzled his hairy chin into her neck, his beard tickling her skin, rocking shivers down her spine, straight into her heart.
Mia snuggled into him, letting the sentiment lull her into a sweet, false security. If only. She’d gladly be his prisoner, but then again, that’s not who he was. The man she was falling for wouldn’t capture her against her will. He’d let her go, and the thought of that moment terrified her. “I want you to lock me up,” she said, turning around to look him in the eye. “Would you, for real? I don’t want to think about Wednesday.”
“I wish.” He blew out a heavy exhale. “But tomorrow is Tuesday. There’s no Wednesday, not in my world. There’s only Tuesday. And we’ll have an amazing one, I promise.”
Chapter 26
Izzy woke to the soundof birds, and the neighbour’s lawnmower. He never left the window open – Mia must have done that last night. She filled his basement with life, forcing him to open up to the world outside and he wasn’t sure how he felt about that. He wanted her, but the rest of the world could very well stay where it was and out of his hair.
His eyes roamed across the sleeping woman, as he rolled over to face her. She was so fair that her hair and skin glowed against the navy blue sheets like the moon in the sky. A creature of north. He’d captured a woman who didn’t belong in this land, and he wanted to lock the doors and trap her forever. But he couldn’t keep her any more than he could bottle sunshine. She’d have to return to her life and when she did, the memory of last night, as vivid as it was in his mind right now, would eventually fade, pushed aside by other things. Izzy knew the weight of responsibility. It could trap you for years.
