“I’ve got lots of favorites.” But that was okay because he’d love them too. “Come see.”

Climbing off Daddy, I grabbed his hand and gave him a tug. “You’re too big. Up, Daddy. Ugh.”

He was very big.

He was very strong.

He was very silly.

“Am I stuck? Oh dear?” Daddy was learning to be funny and looked down at our hands. “Help, my mate.”

I tried to look serious as I tugged and pulled and even bounced, but he kept snickering in his head and was looking very proud of himself.

He was suspiciously stuck.

Daddy was sneaky.

“What did you do?” Daddy was being magey. I forgot. “You’re naughty.”

“You have to say the magic words.” Daddy shrugged and tried to look like there was nothing he could do about it. “I haven’t heard them.”

“Bipity bopity boo?”

He shook his head, chuckling through the bond. “There is no way that is a word. Even in the English language.”

Giggling, I frowned and tapped my chin.

“Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious?”

His mouth dropped open. “English is so strange.”

Showing him the movie through our bond, I loved the way he grumbled and blustered in my head. “Making up words is not magic.”

Sure it was.

“Hmm…” Playing along, I gave him a thinky look and tugged on his hand again. “Spank me?”

That time he laughed out loud.

“You’re the naughty boy.” Waving a hand down his body as he mumbled something too low for me to hear, suddenly I could pull him up. “Pretending to tug me and then saying you couldn’t. Silly goose.”

Sneaky Daddy.

A sneaky Daddy who still looked very proud of himself.

“Mages are magey.” Frowning at Daddy made his laughter bounce around in my head. “I forgot you were magey too.”

Daddy was such a good dragon I forgot.

His laughter changed and he shook his head. “No one ever forgets.”

I shrugged. “Daddy’s a dragon that does magic. I’ll remember but it’s hard. You’re nice. You don’t change the flowers. You’re helpful.”

Daddy was trying not to laugh but he wasn’t doing a very good job of it. “Let’s not tell my mother’s side of the family that.”

“Deal.” I was going to be very nice and very boring when we met them. “I’ll be your good boy.”

I could look very magey too.
