She kept her eyes fixed on his as she sucked more of him into her mouth, licking along the bottom of his cock until she couldn’t take him in any further. She sucked and licked with him deep in her mouth and his hands shot to her head, sinking his fingers into her hair.
“So, good, Beautiful,” he moaned.
Lydia responded by sucking hard and moving her mouth back and forth on his length. Each time she sucked him back into her mouth, he gripped her head tighter.
When he let his head roll back, she sucked him faster, believing that doing so would push him over the same cliff that he had brought her to.
He moaned and rocked his hips with her movements, helping her to take him deeper into her mouth.
“Lydia,” he moaned, almost in a panic. “I’m going to…you must stop…or I’ll…I’m going to spend.”
There was no way she was going to stop. She would taste him the same way he’d done with her. She gripped the back of his thighs and looked back up at him as she worked her tongue harder against his shaft.
He groaned and moaned her name several times as her mouth filled with something thick and warm. She swallowed it down, and he cupped her cheek as he stared into her eyes. After several seconds, he collapsed beside her on the settee.
Lydia watched him as he tucked himself back inside his breeches, and she righted her skirts. He pulled her against him to settle into his side with his arm around her.
Elias kissed her temple. “You are wonderful,” he whispered. “Nothing has ever felt better.”
“I quite agree,” she said, nuzzling against his clothed chest. She realized she still hadn’t seen him with no clothing, but based on how firm his chest was, she imagined he would be delightful to gaze upon.
“I wish for us to speak about what the future could hold for us, but not now,” he said. “Not directly after I was a cad who spent in your wicked mouth.”
She pulled back and smirked at him. “I made you do so.”
“That you did, Beautiful,” he said, sighing. “But some things must be handled properly, but just know that I wish to speak with you on the matter.”
Lydia fought to hide her excitement. Surely if he meant to speak with her, he would ask for her hand. He would need Papa’s permission, of course, which is why he needed to wait. Although, a small part of her worried that he only did so because of what occurred and not for a strong affection for her. He had yet to speak the words. But she reminded herself that he’d been nothing but caring and considerate to her, which would mean he couldn’t be completely devoid of feelings.
They remained silent for a few moments, with her leaning against his chest and Elias lazily rubbing her back, both staring at the fire. She imagined the same scene playing out for years to come. She imagined Christmases before the fire with their children, already knowing that he’d make the most devoted father.
“We really should get back,” he said, breaking the silence. “We shall need to cut some greenery and mistletoe on our way or they’ll surely question why we have been gone so long and have returned with an empty basket.”
She laughed. “At least we already know where to find mistletoe. Assuming we don’t dally when we find it.”
Chapter Eleven
Elias
Elias chastised himselffor allowing an innocent to wrap her sweet lips around his cock. Even if it had been the most thrilling experience of his life. But he was trying to be less of a rake, and the first time he got her alone again, he had his head between her legs and pulled his cock out.
He had already decided he was going to offer for her, having realized that they would suit perfectly for a contented marriage. There wasn’t a single other person whose company he had enjoyed more, and they were obviously quite compatible when it came to the more physical aspects of a marriage.
A strong marriage could be built on those things, even if love wouldn’t play a part in their future. He’d appreciate her and value her, but love was the only thing he couldn’t give her. Or wouldn’t give her, rather. Surely she would be content if she had everything else from him. He’d honor their marriage vows and remain faithful to her. After the time they had spent together over the last few days, even if it was fast, there wasn’t a doubt in his mind that he wouldn’t want another woman.
If he could allow himself to love any woman and give her his whole heart, it would be Lydia. Perhaps that is how he could explain things, and she’d understand.
She never said she wanted a love match and admitted she hadn’tloved the man she had been temporarily betrothed to.
Elias groaned to himself at the recollection of Durham. He was still another matter for Elias to handle. As Lydia’s husband, Elias would make the man’s life miserable if he should dare to speak to her.
He and Lydia were almost back to the house with the bundle of greenery that they had collected. Elias couldn’t help himself when they reached the mistletoe and had to pull her in for a kiss or several.
Diana would surely give him her annoying knowing look when they returned, but she wouldn’t make a show of it to the other guests. He knew he could count on his sister for that.
When they reached the back of the house, another group of guests were just ahead of them going inside, so at least they weren’t too far behind.
Once they were inside, and a servant had taken their outer garments, Elias dropped the basket down beside the others. Diana got everyone to work making kissing balls and stringing garlands together with the greenery so that she could direct the servants where to place them.
