“It would seem she is back right where she started. With those dirty bikers to the south of you,” he tells me.
“Now, as much as you would like me to believe you come in the name of peace, we both know there is more to the story than that. Why?”I demand.
“Let’s just say when you get a call from the Italians, especially the ones that control what comes in and out, you do as they ask.”His words are dripping with disdain and frustration.
Terro groans, rubbing his temple.Yep, now it's all making sense.“I appreciate the call and will take your peace offering into consideration.”
I hang up the call and lean my head back on the chair.“Fucking hell.Send the message—church in exactly an hour.I’ve got to go tell my woman that dinner is canceled.”
“Your woman, Raider?Would this be you laying claim to Ms.Austin?”he singsongs.
“She was always meant to be mine.It just took us longer than it should have.I’ll be making it official tonight at church.”
Chapter Twenty-one
Anastasia
“I am so fucking tired of shocking revelations,” I grumble as Charlie pours me another shot.
“Fucking tell me about it,” Ainsley sighs.“Who knew a few people being fucking dicks could ruin so many fucking lives?”
“I don't know.At this point, I'm so fucking tired of it.It's insane,” Charlie says as she wipes down the counter in front of us.
Staring down into my shot glass, I mull over exactly what my sister has done to everybody in this room. How she has hurt people and taken the people they love without a second thought.I get the sense that somebody has walked up beside me.Looking over to my left, I find one of the girls who seem to hang around the club standing there with a sneer on her face. She looks me up and down, judging everything about who I am.
“Ivy, if you're here to start some bullshit, you can take that right on away from here as I'm not in the mood for it,” Charlie snaps, and if looks could kill, this woman would be dead.
“Lucky for me, Charlie, I don't have to do what you tell me to.The only person I have to listen to is the Prez, and looking around, I don't see him.”Ivy’s tone is dripping with disdain.
“I'm sure the brothers would love to hear how you don't have to do anything anyone tells you but the Prez.Explain to me again how you are so fucking special you don't have to do what is asked of you?”Ainsley honestly looks perplexed.
“That's because I'm the one who's in his bed.”Ivy throws her bleached hair over her shoulder.
Ainsley and Charlie both throw their heads back laughing as I stare at the woman with more audacity than I thought anyone could ever have.Ivy looks back and forth between the two cackling women, her face growing darker and darker the longer they laugh.
“I don't know why you two are laughing like that,” Ivy places both hands on her hips.“I was in his bed last night. You can ask any of the club bunnies. They saw him take my hand and lead me to his room.”
I just sit there and stare at the woman, wondering if she really believes the delusions she's saying.Sitting up straight on the bar stool, I turn towards her, my head tilted, and I make the decision that I've got nothing to fucking lose.
“Funny you say you were in bed with him last night, but I don't remember there being a third person in the bed with us.”I stand from my stool, leaning in close to her.“I'm only going to say this once.I do not share my man.And since he just finished fucking me before we came back to the clubhouse, and it’s my mark he cares on his neck, that makes him mine.”
Ivy’s eyes get wider and wider. Then, she finds her voice again.“He doesn’t let anybody mark him. That’s how we all know you’re full of shit.”
I lean in close.“Lucky for me, I'm not just anybody.”
A large hand lands on the small of my back, causing me to jump.I feel his heat before his chest touches me, and he places a kiss on the side of my neck.Raider’s hands slide around my waist, pulling me back against him.I drop my head back on his shoulder, giving him more space to pepper kisses around my neck.I watch as Ivy's face goes from shock to sadness, ending in anger.I reach back, running my hand down the back of his neck, hooking my fingers in the collar of his shirt, pulling it so you can see the mark I left on him before leaving the pond.
“Like I said, I'm not just anybody,” I wink at her.
Raider lifts his head.“Ivy, you would do well not to piss off the Ol’ Lady of the Prez. The next time you decide to spread lies and bullshit, that will be the last time you're allowed in my club.Do I make myself very fucking clear?”
Ivy doesn't say anything.Instead, she huffs and spins, storming away.Raider goes back to peppering my neck with kisses, chuckling softly.
“Eww.Seriously?”Rusher’s voice caries across the room.
Raider pulls back, our eyes connecting, his wide with a trace of fear.I reach up and cup his cheek before placing a kiss on it and pulling away to face Rusher.
“Yes, seriously. We were hoping to take you to dinner and talk about things,” I make my way over to him.
