I gave him that look, the one that said he was walking a thin line.

He smirked. “So, what you want me to do? Call her back and curse her out?”

“Yes,” I said quickly. “Matter of fact, I do.”

Pressure shook his head, that slow grin forming on his lips. “You somethin’ else, baby. Chill.”

He leaned in to kiss me, but I turned my face away. He chuckled under his breath, then bent down to kiss Prestyn’s cheek. “My lil’ man out cold, huh?” he said.

I didn’t answer. He scooted closer to me, his breath brushing my neck. “Baby, chill,” he whispered. “You know I only love you.”

“That’s not the point,” I said. “She shouldn’t even have access to you. That’s disrespectful.”

He nodded, still calm. “You right. I’ll call her.”

He sighed and pressed her number. When she answered, he hit speaker.

“Pressure?” she said, her voice smaller now. “Hey… how you been?”

“Great,” he said, his tone cool. “Got another baby on the way with Pluto.”

There was silence before she said, “That’s amazing. I–”

“Don’t call my phone no more,” Pressure cut in. “Ain’t nothin’ left for us to talk about.”

Before anyone could say another word, I leaned forward and snapped, “You heard what the fuck he said, bitch. Don’t call back.” Then I hit end myself.

Pressure stared at me, shaking his head with that grin again. “You a mess,” he said, laughing as he opened his contacts. He went straight to Ka’mari’s name, deleted her number, and hit block.

Satisfied, I leaned back against the headboard while he tossed his phone onto the dresser. He leaned down, kissing me slow. “I love you, baby.”

I grabbed his face, tugging lightly at his beard. “I love you too.”

A few minutes later, I carried Prestyn across the hall to his room and laid him in his crib. When I came back, Pressure was in the shower. I stripped down and joined him. The hot water hit my skin, and when he turned to look at me, his expression softened. We washed each other slow with no words needed.

By the time we got out, the mansion was silent. We climbed into bed, and he pulled me close, wrapping his arm around me.

“The day turned out cool as hell,” he whispered in a sleepy tone, his lips brushing the side of my face.

“Yeah,” I replied, smiling to myself. “I still can’t believe we’re having another boy.”

He chuckled low. “Another lil’ me,” he said, his hand sliding to my stomach. “My boys gon’ run this whole damn world one day.”

I laughed softly. “I just knew it was a girl.”

“I did too,” he admitted, kissing my shoulder. “But a queen like you can only make kings.”

His words melted through me. He kept rubbing slow circles over my stomach, his palm big and warm. Then his lips found my neck, and he started sucking lightly, dragging his tongue across my skin. It wasn’t about sex. It was just him loving on me the way he always did when he was in his peace.

I smiled and leaned forward, kissing him slow while his hand stayed on my stomach. The night felt warm and full. Between the love we shared, the life we’d built, and the little one growing inside me, everything felt exactly how it was meant to be.

And even though I went off earlier, deep down I knew one thing for sure. Pressure was mine now, and I wasn’t letting no bitch from the past change that.

Meridian Estates in Nzuri Hall

On the way to my people’s house, I kept my hand on Toni’s thigh. The drive was quiet, but it wasn’t where somethin’ felt wrong. It was just obvious that we was both thinkin’ about some shit, and just tryna figure out how to say it when the time come. My thumb kept moving slow over her skin, and every now and then, I glanced at the diamond ring on her finger, trippin’ on the fact that she was really my fiancé. That ring meant everything to me. It meant she was mine for real, not just in spirit, or in the way we touched or slept beside each other, but in the way that told the world I belonged to her, and she belonged to me.

I proposed to her two months ago right in our bedroom. We ain’t have no audience, or big moment. It was just me on oneknee with my heart in my hands while she looked at me like she couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t the way I always pictured it, but it felt right. If I’m being real, I wanted to do it in front of my family. I wanted my mama and pops to see how much she meant to me. But with all the tension between me and them, I knew that moment wouldn’t have been peaceful. Pops was still holdin’ on to what happened with her cousin, and even though Ma been tryin’, I could feel that she wasn’t fully comfortable yet either. So, I kept that shit between me and Toni, just like everything else we’ve been through together.
