Me:Well, now you know how I feel most of the time.

W.S.:You’re close.

Me:I’m wondering which would be a sexier car. An Audi or a Porsche?

W.S.:You’re calling me sexy?

Me:You wish. We’re talking about cars. My car.

W.S.:So I’m not sexy?

Yes!You are the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen, okay? I’m sure it wasn’t hard for him to read that fact written all over my face in HUGE bold letters. But then, men could be oblivious sometimes. Or pretend to be—according to their needs.

Me:I’m not sure if you’re my type.

W.S.:What’s your type?

If you could draw me a man … it’d be him.

Me:Sexy.

W.S.:You’re infuriating.

Me:No, that’s all you.

I laughed out loud. It was so much fun making William squirm. I understood now why he teased me all the time. I was getting on his nerves—a new hobby. Plus, he needed a humility check. I’m sure he had grown accustomed to being praised and worshiped by women all the time. Not me. Not yet, at least.

Me:I’m going with Porsche. Black, sexy, Porsche. Final answer.

W.S.:If you apply yourself in this very same way, you might win the bet.

Me:My new car’s going to be a Porsche?

W.S.:I’m afraid so.

“Yes!” I screamed out loud, raising both of my hands above my head, and laughed again. “We’re not done yet,” he said, jerking his chin at the phone.

W.S.:I think you’re like a Porsche.

He laughed out loud. I figured he noticed how lame that was once he sent it. I just shook my head and echoed his laugh. I’m glad I could see and hear his reactions after he sent his texts. It was easier to understand the context.

Me:This was fun. I won, and you got to learn a new pick-up line. I almost blushed with that one. Might work with someone else.

W.S.:I know how to make you blush. And I know how to get under your skin too, don’t forget that.

Me:It’s a condition. My face tends to get red around the cheeks. It’s very unpredictable.

W.S.:I’m sure it is.

Me:Hahaha

W.S.:I don’t hear you laughing. Learn to take a compliment.

Me:Haven’t read any.

W.S.:I think you’re beautiful and sexy.

An oldie, but a goodie. I found his eyes and said, “Thank you.” I had to pretend with all the strength of my being that what he had just written to me wasn’t affecting me. But oh, it did. I could feel my pulse accelerating. And that was the inconvenient part of chatting with him side by side. I didn’t think that was fair.
