“Is that a first?” I said with a grin.
“It is.” He dropped a peck on my lips. “And I don’t remember when’s the last time I asked anyone to be my girlfriend either. Maybe in high school? All my agent does is send contracts to any girls I date.”
“Contracts? That sounds romantic,” I teased. There must’ve been a mean stack of dead files lying around somewhere in William’s agent’s office. “And don’t you dare send one my way.”
“Oh, I wouldn’t risk it,” he said, arching a brow. “You’d probably send it back in ashes.”
“Something like that.” I sat up on the bed and placed my hands on his stomach. “I hate contracts.” My fingers brushed his perfectly chiseled abs up and down over his t-shirt. “And that’s—not fair.”
“What? This?” he lifted his t-shirt, and I had to look away as his six-pack made my blood warm up. “You’re blushing?”
“I’m not!”
“Yes, you are. Guille, look at me.” I raised my brows and looked at him, faking an annoyed look on my face as in:see, I’m not blushing.
“Come here.” He grabbed my hand and placed it over his bare stomach. “All of this is yours, so get used to it. And all of this”—he grabbed my waist and pulled me on top of him—“is mine.” I nodded with a smile. All yours.
“Is that a yes?” He hadn’t answered my question.
“Shit, you’re right,” he said with a laugh. “I accept.”
“Shut up.” I shoved his shoulder. “I’m serious about this.”
“Baby, I’m yours,” he said in his low, husky voice. “And you’re mine.”
“Yours.” I kissed him, and I didn’t know how to stop doing it. All I wanted was to kiss and stare at him. I never knew I could know such happiness, and I was more than certain that he felt the same way.
Every graze of our skin was electric—intense. My body and soul recognized his and took pleasure in the familiarity of him. A part of me was scared to feel this much. I only hoped I never stopped feeling like this. It was almost addictive.
“So why don’t we seal the boyfriend-girlfriend deal by going on that first date you Jedi-mind-tricked me into?” William stood up from the bed and offered me his hands to help me up. I replied with a nod.
“And … you’re definitely done with Rachel, right?” I was so jealous when it came to William. He quickly noticed and set me at ease.
“I love it when you get territorial,” William said with a laugh. He placed his hands around my shoulders and embraced me. “But there’s no reason for you to feel that way. And I’ll make sure you never do.”
“Did she sign a contract too?”
The contract thing was so ridiculous to me. I understood why he did it. Not everyone out there was as good intentioned as one would think. And not every girl wanted to date William for the right reasons.
“Everyone does,” he replied, dropping a kiss on my head.
“And you’re sure you feel comfortable with me not signing one? If you need me to sign one, I can—”
“Never,” he said, lifting my chin. “Come on. It’s getting late. You can grill me with your questions over dinner. I know how curious you are.”
“Won’t the hotel’s restaurants be closed by now?” I asked, walking toward my luggage.
“Not for me.” He threw a wink my way.
“You’re so spoiled.” I rolled my eyes at him. “I’ll see you in a bit then. I’ll take my stuff to my room, shower there, and come back.”
“You’re insane to think you’re walking out that door right now,” he said. I laughed. “Don’t laugh. I’m serious.” He was. “You’re staying. Here. With me.”
“Well, thank God because I didn’t book a room,” I said, rolling my suitcase toward his bathroom. “I was just kidding. You’re stuck with me.”
“You werethatsure I’d cave, huh?” He followed me. “That’s what I call self-confidence.”
“That’s what I call stupid,” I replied, laying my suitcase on the floor and unzipping it. “But Alice convinced me not to book a room.”
