“Those guys aren’t wastinganytime.”

“I’ll probably get itbefore its release to the general public.”Durocadmitted.

“How do you managethat?”

“My dad knows a guy in thebusiness. He’s a producer and this is one of his.”

“This guy just gives themaway?”Bindi wondered.

“Dad gives him a review.Everyone he loans it totoo has to give one. There’s a link wefollow so he knows he’s getting reviews. If he didn’t, I don’t knowif he’d cut dad off of the DVDs, he gives him or not. They haveother business together too.”

“What What’s your daddo?”

Oops! He’d slipped upslipped on theinformation and given it out sooner than he’d planned.“He just hasa business. There are lots of people that do.”

She just nodded and dropped it.Maybeshe was giving him a break, but he suspected she didn’t want himasking any questions.Duroc wanted her to tell him because she feltcomfortable with him and wanted him to know. That time would come.He was sure of it.The question was not if, but when.In a week, they would both be headed to HQ and things would change. It washard to say how.

Moe hadn’t told him what his assignmentwould be, and he was sure Bindi didn’t know hers either.Assignments often changed from day to day thereday depending onwhat they needed. This office had all servicesthe servicesavailable, and he was qualified to do everything.Bindi was onlytrained in setting up systems.Did she even want to do the otherthings Tyne offered?

Being a personal bodyguard could beinteresting, but Bindi wasn’t strong enough. She had shown shecould and would use weapons as equalizers when needed.Going oninvestigations was exciting but again, dangerous.Maybe not moredangerous than setting up systems in Wilde had been. He’d ask her,but that would give away that he knew she was leaving.

“It’s getting late, and Ineed to be my best.I think everyone has a newbie to train and I’venot done that before.”Bindi confided.

“It shouldn’t be hard.Theyare already trained. It’s getting familiar with the people and thearea they need help with.”

“That shouldn’t be hard atall, but I’m still learning about the places here.”

“They just need the basics. It’s not like we don’t have a list of hotels and eating places.”Duroc pointed out.

“Maybe someone needs tocome up with a guide.”

“That would be a lot ofwork, and no one has anytime here.”

“You’re right. Also, whatwould you say about Mad’s?Good food but crazy owner?”Bindisuggested.

“Warning to all singlemales. The owner is a shark, beware?”

They both broke into laughter. As funnyas it sounded, it was the truth. The problem was that people beingas they were, many would go just to see what it was all about.Formany, Mad’s would be their first stop.

“I’m going to walkhome.”

“Let me escort you there.”Duroc suggested.

“No.It’s not far and I’vebeen here long enough to be recognized by locals.”

“There are dangers thataren’t local.”

She pulled a stun gun out of herpocket.“See?I’m fine.”

Duroc walked her to the door and gaveher the sweetest kiss before he opened it and let her leave.“Becareful.”

As soon as she was gone, he calledJoey.“Joey.”

“Hey, Joey.Bindi just leftmy place, and she wouldn’t let be me escort her.”

Joey cussed.“I’ll have Naqi sendsomeone after her.”

The line went dead. He’d wait a fewminutes then call to see if Bindi had made it.It was his hope Joeywould chew his mate out.She wouldn’t listen to him, but maybe Joeycould get through to her.It wasn’t long and his phonerang.
