“I guess if it worked for her, it'llwork for us.”
“That's what I decidedtoo.”
“We went to the fish plant today andwe brought back some samples.I hope this will help with the foodthat we need.”Duroc said.“I'll send someone to bring it in if youhave someone show them where to put it.”
“I'll show them.”Rosey, who wasnearby, offered.
“She's a keeper.”Bindisaid.
“It's hard to find one.”
“They didn't want anyone to know howto do much of anything.I don't really understand that.It was likethey feared them being educated or trained.”
“They did. That's when they wouldfigure out how badbadly they were being treated. Those in thefactories have no benefits and are poorly paid.”Durocsaid.
“What do you plan to do?”
“I'll set things right. It will justtake some time.”
“There are many problems here too.Nothing is as it should be.The laundry is just set up for theprecious few.We have the same issue for the kitchen. This alphaseem to care little for most of the people in his pack.A smallgroup got everything, and the others struggled to make it oncrumbs.”Bindi said.
A week passed and the helphelparrived.Somehow, they managed to get all the needed supplies forthe buildings they were constructing and those needed for thevolunteers who came to help. One apartment house was nearly done, and the top two floors were filled with those residents who wereassigned there. The second apartment building had been started, andthe third had just begun.
Providing places for everyone to livewas the biggest challenge but not the only one. They had managed toset up a laundry area in a new building.Feeding everyone had alsobeen difficult but so far, they had done it.that was with rentedequipment like grills and coolers. They had also build an area withpicnic tables and those they had purchased. It was closer to wherethe buildings were currently being built.
The help the other packs had sent hadbeen amazing. He didn't know what they would have done withoutthem.Nat had uncovered huge amounts of money that had gone intothe packs new account.Duroc felt confident in letting his matehire for those needed positions and purchasing needed items for allthe upgrades they were currently installing.
Damon and Marissa had left thismorning.Harry was enjoying herself too much to even think aboutleaving. The witch had been right about the young males gettingover the fact that she was a witch and coming back for more.Shehad been immensely helpful with heavy loads that needed lifting. That had helped speed the construction along. All they had to dowas keep her well-fed.
As some of their young men had becomebetter trained at construction it had moved along much faster. There was no doubt in Duroc’s mind that they would add aconstruction crew to their list of businesses. Many of those planswould have to wait because these crews that hadvolunteered, volunteered were only here to build housing.
Things were still starting to cometogether. He could envision the plan that they had for the packcoming together.Duroc hoped his mate could see it too.Every timehe came back from a hard day at the factories, he saw massiveimprovements in the way things were going.Bindi was incredible inthe way she was running the household. She was managing to feed ahuge amount of people, keep up with the laundry, and everyone andhad a place to lay they're head at night.
He was glad he had taken the advice toturn things over to Nat.She had gotten together with Jameson andher team and his.The group add had initiated many of the changesthat he and Jameson had discussed.
“There you are.”Jameson saidgrinning.
“Tell me there isn’t more?”
“No, I just thought you’d want to knowwe initiated the last benefit and now all we have to do is find thepension for those that lost it.I found one of those people who isretired and willing to work with Nat and her team to recover it foreveryone working here at the time.We won’t be involved in thatprocess. All we have left to do is decide if we wish to givesomething to those who were poorly paid and deniedbenefits.”
“Did you say that our people havemedical and dental insurance?”
“I don't think I said because mostwolves either have it provided at the pack or don't have any. It'snot a concern many have because it's rarely used.We do have asmall number of non wolves but of those only the humanshumans wouldprobably be interested in that.If you could get a doctor to set upan office near here that they could use for free, that wouldprobably cover what was needed.”Jameson observed.
“Could you check intothat?”
“I can put that on mylist.”
“Remember, I told you to get whateverhelp you need.Don't try to do everything yourself that simplyisn’t necessary.”Duroc said.
“I understand and I will get help ifnecessary.”
It wasn't incrediblean incrediblerelief to have Jameson taking care of so many things, but he wantedto learn from others mistakes and made sure that Nat spot checkedany work being done.He wondered what kind of help Bindi wasgetting. As things began to come together, he realized it was greatto have friends and family when you needed them.Duroc would besure to be there if needed by any of his friends orfamily.
Many of those that had come here withhim were no longer here.Being on his own now felt rather odd.Thecouncil so far had left them alone, but he knew they would expectsomething. This was a very wealthy pack that had just beenmismanaged terribly. One might think they would be pleased at thatpoint that he would have things running properly and they weregetting they’re due as wolf law provided.Unfortunately, he hadlived a long time and he had seen that the council was rarelyhappy. The other shoe would drop, and he was uncertain what theycould possibly expect from him.
Had it been money, they would havealready demanded a share.Hopefully, it would be something that hedidn't have to feel bad about giving. His day was at an end, and hefelt that he had regained control of the fish processing business. This business was owned half by the pack and was now half hispersonally.
