“You should wait.Even if Ilooked it would take some time to find what you want.”

“I thought the cats werealmost all here and settled.”

“No, they aren’t, butthat’s not the reason.Buying homes and land has come into fashion. The phase will pass, and the market will open up again.”Arielexplained.

He could see she really believed heneeded to wait.“If you think it’s best.”

“I do, stay for supper,it’ll be ready soon.”She led the way out of the office and back tothe dining room.

Duroc couldn’t see Bindi, but heassumed she’d gone to her room to clean up.She came back out a fewminutes later. It was time for supper, so he escorted her to thebuffet. They were right behind Ariel. That would give them the bestselection. That made him hungry, and he couldn’t wait to get to thefood. His wolf agreed.

Their plates full, they sat down nextto each other.“Where you going tomorrow?”Ariel asked.

“Does everyone know?”Durocasked.

“Not everyone maybe ahandful of people.”Ariel replied.

“I’m not sure.There areseveral choices.”

“You can go to Eureka orBranson.”Ariel suggested.

“Or HolidayIsland.”

“That’s a great place too.Maybe you don’t need any suggestions?”

He’d thought about renting a boat thereand taking her fishing. She’d never gone but he thought she mightenjoy it.Thank the goddess Ariel dropped the subject.

Bindi moaned.“This isexcellent.”

“What is it?”

“I snuck a bite ofoff mycake.This is a dream.”

“That’s so naughty.”Hewinked at her, and she turned pink.

They kept eating until they had nothingleft but dessert.Duroc tasted the cake first.“That isamazing.”

When that was done, he was going to go.“Duroc, why don’t you take Bindi to the rec area.I’m not sureshe’s been.”

“Have you been there?”Heturned to look at her.

“I walked through, but I’venot done anything there.”Bindi admitted.

“Maybe we can findsomething to do.”

Ariel was gone by now, so they got upand dropped off their plates and their items. He escorted his mateto the building behind the house. It was a huge room with a pingpong table and several pool tables. The bar was up against thefarthest wall with various bottled drinks.A locked cabinet heldhard liquor forliquor to be used for parties for adults.Beer wason tap but guarded well.Everything else was water, soda, juice orother nonalcoholic drinks.

“Want to play pool?”Durocasked as he walked to an empty table.

“Why not?”

“Are you any good?”Heasked as he set the table up.

“I’ve played alittle.”

Duroc could say the same. The skillthat was needed to win against any regular player took more timethan he had. He’d try not to be too hard on her because he wasstill better than average.

“You can break.”
