They’d been driving all over the area.Bindi would become an expert at navigating these roads in no time.Duroc took them through Berryville on the way to Eureka this time. There was a wealth of stores in Eureka, and they had all kinds ofitems. This was a place you parked and walked down the sidewalks. He was amazed with how many stores were open.
Going downhill first, they would gouphill on the way back. The walk was brisk, but they stopped oftengoing in stores that were open.Bindi bought several things, mostlyclothing like T-shirts, scarves, and even a dress. This was notwhat he’d expected her to buy.It showed him that he didn’t knowhis mate very well.
They went into an art gallery, and hesaw a lot of talent.A picture of two wolves, a black alpha and hisgolden mate hung on the wall. The two were in the forest at duskdrinking from a creek. It was amazing and he had to have it.Thisstore packed it up and would send it to his home inWashington.
Bindi liked several paintings andsketches but didn’t seem to feel strongly about any of them.Thetrip had still been worth it because he’d loved that painting. There were more galleries, but only this one was on their way backup the hill.Several places had food and they stopped for soup andsandwiches.
“This was nice.”Bindicommented.
“It was, wasn’tit?’
“They must have a lot ofthings to do around here.”
“That’s true. There’sseveral caves, music shows, and more. You can even rent UTVs toexplore places and I hear that’s fun.”Duroc admitted.
“I’ve never rode one ofthose or been to a cave.”
“I’ll add that to ourlist.”
After getting back to his car, they gotin and he headed home.Only this time he headed to his own home.Eventually, she noticed he turned the other way.
“Where are we going?”Bindiasked.
“I thought you might wantto see a movie.”
“Okay.”
Pulling in at his place, he went aroundand helped her up and escorted her to his door.Once he got thedoor open, he led her in.At least the house wasn’t a mess.“Comein and have a seat.Do you want a drink?”Duroc asked.
“I’d take one.”
He got her a wine cooler and a beer forhim.“Want to pick a movie?”
“Sure.”She went throughhis collection and pulled one out.“How about this?”
Chapter 6
What is This?
Bindi picked an action film. While shedreamed of romance and a happy ending, she didn’t think Duroc wouldwant to watch that and besides, he had no such movies. She couldn’tgo wrong since everything here had been picked by him.
“Here’s the movie.I wassurprised you had wine coolers.”Bindi observed.
“It’s a secret, but a lotof men actually like them.”
“That I didn’tknow.”
“It depends on the mood, Iguess.Sometimes the sweetness just hits the right spot.Let’s getthis movie on and we can sit on the couch.”
There were other places to sit, but thecouch actually looked the most comfortable. They sat together andonce the movie started, they were actually snuggling like the twoof them were an item.Is that what they were?Bindi thought Durocwas handsome, but she wondered why he adapted to human ways soeasily.
His hair was done at the beauty shop. He’d said that and the blond color was for an undercover operationhe’d done for Tyne.It just seemed odd for a wolf and while itlooked good, she thought he’d look better when he grew it out.Whyhe’d taken such an interest in her was what she couldn’tunderstand. It also concerned her because what if she fellcompletely and he tired of her.
“What are you thinkingabout?”Duroc whispered.
“I’m wondering what youwant from me?”
“You haven’t figured thatout yet?”He joked.
