“What am I doing?”Shelooked innocent.
“Trail and Tramp gave mehell even though they got as much attention from the women as Idid.There was no going to Mad’s for me.Trail told her I wassingle, and that girl is several kinds of crazy.”
Bindi couldn’t argue.“I didn’t knowyou had it so tough.”Bindi answered with a straightface.
“You’re still going to giveme a hard time, aren’t you?”
“I will, but I’ll feel baddoing it.Does that make it better?”Bindi asked.
“No.We’re at the nextjob.”
“This is a dump.What arethey trying to keep safe?”
“Let’s go find out.”Grantsuggested.He walked up to the door first.
The elderly man that answered the doorseemed safe enough.“Here you are.Follow me in and I’ll show youwhere to go.”
That was what he did as he showed themwindows and doors.He was glad to have the pad to turn things onand off by the main door.The man looked at her and winked.“Youcan give me my instructions.”
She blushed.Maybe she had misjudgedhow safe he was.“Why did you decide on a securitysystem?”
“Not me, my kids paid forthe system for a year.It was some special your company isrunning.”
“The company is alwaysdoing something.I’d best get back to work.”
“If you need a differentjob, I’ll give you one.”The man offered.
“Thanks for the offer, butthe owners are friends.”Bindi admitted.
He wandered away leaving her to get herwork done.She put her concentration into her work.The house wasmedium sized, but they got it done quickly.As he had requested,she gave him the instructions.
“You are leaving, no?”Shenodded.“My heart is broken.”
That didn’t stop them from leaving toget to their next job.This looked like a mansion and might takeall day.Once they got inside and looked around, they saw it hadbeen wired before.By using the wires which looked new and werejust like theirs, they saved a lot of time.It would be a latelunch, but they would have time for another job.
The places to eat were spread out andcould sometimes be found in surprising places.There was a placejust two miles away that was on Rita’s list.It was another huntinglodge but the rooms to rent were small and not as nice as thoseshe’d seen before.The food however was wonderful.
Chapter 2
His Love
Duroc is sure that Bindi is his one.He’s tried to do better especially since he knows what she wentthrough when the haters attacked her home.She seems human althoughthese days it is hard to tell.Since he won’t be the alpha thatdoesn’t really matter.
“Hey Duroc, want to grabyour list?Why are you looking so glum?”Rita asked.
“I had hoped we wouldswitch partners by now.We used to rotate so we would get to knoweveryone we worked with.”
“You having partnerissues?”
“It’s not that so much asjust wanting to get to know the others.My life might depend onthem someday and I’d like to know how much help I can counton.”
She shot him a look of disbelief.“I’llswitch Tammy and Mollie.”Rita grinned.He’d never realized she wasimpish before.
His voice dropped.“Is it true Bindimight be going to HQ?”Duroc asked.
“I honestly don’t know.Tyne will decide and he may send someone and that’s when she’llleave.That may be when I actually know.”
“He doesn’t really do thatto you, does he?”
