“Maybe you should take Bindi withyou?”
“Yes, I’d like to go.”Bindiagreed.
“Where is the wolf and his mate whoentered the circle?”
“I’m here.”The femalesaid.
“You are mates?”
“We are.”
“What do you do?”
“I run the househouse, and my matedoes repairs.”She explained.
“What should I do withyou?”
“I don’t know.”
“Why did you do it?”
“We have pups.He was going to killthem if we didn’t.”
“What’s your name?”
“I’m Lois and my mate isHarvey.”
“I’m Duroc and my mate is Bindi.Whydon’t you take your mate home and see to your pups?”
“Thank you, Alpha.”Lois hurried overto her mate and dragged him away.
Bindi came back to him.“All the sparerooms will be full plus we’ll have extras in other places.Thatbuilding is as bad as I remember it being.”
“I can’t imagine why he’d do thisunless the pack is broke.”
“The pack isn’t broke.”Damon said ashe approached.“There is money in a frozen account. You need anaccountant and fast.”
He needed a lot of things fast.Rightnow, places for people to stay was on top of the list. This wasgoing to be crazy.Thank goodness he had Bindi and others to helphim.Bindi seemed to be taking control of getting people as settledas she could.Much of that work, work would be Bindi’s and hecouldn’t deny he was glad. This pack owned several businesses, andhe would have to check into all of those.
Hierarchy was also his problem amongthe males.Bindi would handle females. Her area would also coverfood. He felt almost guilty over all the stuff she had to handle. But he would have his hands full too.
Chapter 8
The Pack
Bindi had woke up todaytoday to atypical wolf’s mate.Sure, he was an alphas son, but not the onethat so much was expected of.She wasn’t alpha mate material, notfor the pack alpha anyway. There was no choice and when the youngwolf, Finley, took her to the barn that was dubbed the packhouse, she was horrified. No one, not even cows, should be inbe here.Theroof leaked and the floor was just as it had been when she livedhere. They’d not covered the original floor which was drymanure.
There were more leaks in the roof nowand the walls were in danger of falling down in places. It seemedworse when she realized infants and toddlers were in here directlyon the floor because they had no beds.Al hadn’t gotten any better,he was even worse.
“Who is in charge here?”
“I’m Rosey and I’m incharge.”
“Gather the children and theirfamilies and take them to the house.Set them up in the living roomand see that they get a drink and a snack. While they wait, we needto get them clean and in better clothes.Do you think anything towear is available here?”
“Everything is available at the bighouse, but the lady might want some of her clothes that was leftbehind in the hurry to leave.”
“Any idea what she might want?Couldyou call her to see?”Bindi asked.
