Zena smiled, her eyes filled with so much light. “She’s got great taste. Your kitchen is to die for.”

I chuckled as I walked her over, watching as she took it all in with wide eyes, the deep blue beauties showing off their color.

“Oh, my God! I would love to bake in this kitchen. It’s gorgeous and a double oven? C’mon!” Zena squealed and clapped her hands, bouncing on her toes again. I never knew bouncing on toes could be so damn sexy.

But there she was, doing it like it was some new great dance move.

Fuck, I wanted her in my bed.

“Isn’t baking cookies part of Christmas decorating?”

She looked at me and grinned. “I like how you think.”

And there went my bad mood.

Like clouds parting after a storm, she was the sun chasing away my darkness.

CHAPTER TWO

Zena

Wow.

Oh my God, wow.

Like really Oh my God, wow.

Wait until I called Collette later.

I mean, this place was what dreams were made of.

A log cabin in the mountains, away from people, and more gorgeous than I ever expected. Large vaulted ceilings and beautiful craftsmanship lined the walls and the kitchen…chef’s kiss. An absolute dream come true.

Not to mention the hot, older, gruff mountain man who looked at me with a gleam in his eye. A very sexy gleam. One I wanted to find out more about.

But not until I did my job, at least. I had a mission to complete.

Get the grumpy mountain man’s cabin decorated for Christmas.

His grandmother gave me specific instructions.

Lift his spirits, decorate his cabin, and not reveal who sent me. Easy peasy.

What wasn’t on the list?

Liking the handsome guy.

I needed to decorate and leave. Otherwise, I doubted my boss would assign me any other jobs. Which meant no baking cookies.

“Okay, let me get the rest of my boxes and get started.”

“I’ll get the boxes for you. It’s freezing outside.”

Before I could debate, he turned on his heel and walked away. I followed behind and waited for him at the front door. The snow fell harder now than it was when I first arrived and I hoped I’d make it back to my hotel later.

Roman balanced all three boxes and two bags on both arms, carrying in one trip what would’ve taken me at least two or three. His size came in handy.

I took one from him and closed the door behind us as we walked back to the living room with the rest of the decorations.
