As he stacked the boxes neatly on the couch, my eyes moved along his sexy frame, taking a second to really drink him in, his buff, muscular form turning me on.

No. Noooo. No sexiness happening.

But I couldn’t help myself like a dessert you couldn’t resist, and my eyes landed on his ass and feasted, the round firmness something I wanted to sink my teeth into.

Damn him and his sexy ass.

“Anything else you need?”

“Nope. I’m good.”

“Okay.” Roman said.

Silence fell between us. We stared at each other, and I swore you could visibly see sparks flying between us.

I wanted to say something, but no words formed.

Did he want to say something too?

Roman scratched the back of his head, but he took a step closer, closing the distance between us.

More sparks flew.

My breath caught in my throat, and I swallowed hard. Alarm bells went off in my head.

This wasn’t a good idea. Nothing good could come from this.

Yet I didn’t move. Didn’t push him away.

My phone buzzed in my pocket and we sprang apart, the loud sound jarring in the otherwise silent room. I ignored the message. Whoever it was could wait.

“There’s a pot of coffee in the kitchen. Help yourself if you’d like a mug.” He broke the silence.

“Thank you, Roman, but I don’t drink coffee. I appreciate the offer.”

He scratched at his scruff, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. “No coffee? How do you survive?”

I laughed. So, the grump had a sense of humor. “I don’t sacrifice my sleep for one. My friends joke I’ll never have kids because how much sleep I need, but I like to think my child will like sleep as much as me.”I know, I know, wishful thinking. “I drink tea, though. A lot of it. There must be caffeine in it.”

“There is.” Roman said, each word spoken less grumpy than the last. “Sorry though, I’m fresh out of tea.” His mouth lifted into a half smile which was more than I got since meeting him. “I can run out and grab some for you.”

“In this weather? That’s crazy. Don’t worry about it. I had plenty this morning.”

“I’ll get out of your way, then.” Roman turned and walked towards the kitchen. Like an idiot, I stood there waiting.

Sure enough, he glanced back and my heart fluttered inside my chest, tingles down to my toes.

Two hourslater and I transformed his cabin into a Christmas wonderland. A pre-lit tree stood in the corner of the living room with shining white lights and gold tinsel. Ornaments hung from the branches and a matching gold tree skirt hugged the bottom. Throughout the three rooms, I hung tinsel, decorated the mantle, hung some stockings, and placed little wreaths all around, bringing the look together from room to room.

I spread out a table runner made of Christmas plaid with gold trim and placed green and red candles in the center with poinsettia flowers around them. A mini tree with lights sat in both the dining room and kitchen, and a small wreath adorned each kitchen cabinet.

The pine scent filled the air so nicely I didn’t need to light a candle, thanks to my wreaths, and I hung the last two on the both the front and side doors. I’d decorate more outside if it weren’t for the weather, but I was told to keep most of it on the inside.

The best part? Roman’s reaction.

He hadn’t stayed upstairs for long before he came snooping around, offering to help. Though I didn’t need it, I acted like I did to keep him nearby.

“Ta da!” I said as I spun around in a circle while waving my arms. “Well, what do you think?”
