“As your best friend, I’m telling you that you can’t let this opportunity pass. Get in there, find Trent and serve him, and then at leastwatchpeople get their freak on. Maybe that will loosen you up, and you’ll find a hot guy to be with. Even if it’s only for one night. Live a little.”

I paused, applying a shade of Silver Fog on the inner corner of my lid, and looked at Lore in the reflection of the mirror. “I’ll think about it.”

I had to admit that going to this elite sex club was a rare opportunity. In my head, I’d pictured a free-for-all of people screwing on every piece of furniture. I’d imagined whips, chains, floggers, gags, Doms and Dommes. I had no idea what to expect. What I did know was that I was to dress in cocktail attire. Ava had told me that women didn’t wear panties to the club—for easy access. I chose to wear a thong because going commando was too ballsy for me.

“You better,” Lore responded. “And I want details.”

“I can’t give you details. It’s confidential, remember?” It wasn’t confidential that Lorelei or anyone knew about the sex club, but itwasconfidential to discuss or expose who and what went on in the mansion.

“Okay, I don’t need to know who was there. I just want to know whatyousee and whatyoudo.”

I rolled my eyes and shut the bathroom door in her face. I had to finish getting ready for the party, and I was tired of arguing with my best friend.

My black Louboutins with silver spikes across the heel clicked on my hardwood floor as I made my way from my bedroom to the living room. Lorelei looked up from a magazine she was reading at my breakfast bar as soon as I came into view.

She was speechless.

“Well?” I snapped. If I looked like shit, I needed to know. I was dressed in a sleeveless black dress that hugged every curve. My hair was pulled back in a loose Chignon at the nape of my neck, and dangly, black-beaded earrings hung from each ear. But what made my look were the shoes. You could never go wrong with a pair of thousand dollar Louboutins.

“If I saw you at a sex club, I’d be all over that.” She waved her hand up and down.

“So I look okay?”

“Honey, you look better than okay. If Jason Black is there, he will definitely be all up on you.”

I shook my head and chuckled under my breath. “Okay. Well, Ava is picking me up in a few minutes. We should walk down so I’m ready.”

Lorelei handed me my black clutch. “The Petition and Summons are in here with the blank response papers for you to serve Trent.”

I smiled. “You’re the best assistant ever.”

“Best assistant as in once you become a member of Sensation you’ll bring me as your guest?”

I chuckled. “Yeah. If that ever happens, you’ll be my plus one.”

“The perks of this job keep getting better and better.” She laughed.

We made our way out my front door. As I was locking it, I heard Lorelei speak.

“Hi, Sam.”

My hand stilled on the key in the top lock.

“Hey, ladies,” he responded.

I looked over and saw his gaze on me. I glared.

“Peyton, I have to say you’re looking good enough to fuck.”

Lorelei gasped. I’d never told her about my altercation with him from a week ago. I knew I was going to be interrogated for hours. Luckily, I didn’t have that long. I pulled the key from the lock and started walking toward him because, unfortunately, it was on the way to the elevator. Lorelei didn’t move a muscle. Her eyes were the size of silver dollars as she watched, waiting to see what I was going to do.

I stopped right in front of Sam and looked up at him. I was so close that I could feel the heat from his chest seeping into my bare shoulders. “Lucky for me, you’ll never get the chance.” I stepped back to walk away, but he grabbed my wrist to halt me.

“You’re still pissed about last week?”

“I’m pissed that you’re not a better man.”

“Peyton, we’ve been over this—”
