“Neither did I, but apparently he’s into kinky shit and he slips something in drinks so the women do what he wants.”

Ava walked over and patted my shoulder. “Thanks, Book. I’m going to go find Trent.”

My head snapped up to her. “You are?”

She smiled. “Yeah. I told him once you found Peyton that I would find him so we could talk.”

That meant they were probably going to get back together, and to them it wouldn’t matter if I was with Peyton. “I like the sound of that.” I smiled.

She smiled back before she walked away. My gaze fell on Randy, and he nodded and left too.

“So you weren’t looking very hard for me,” I said, looking into Peyton’s chocolate colored eyes.

“We found you five minutes ago, but you were engrossed in the—show.” She waved her hand in the direction of the sofa where the threesome was still going strong.

When I looked back, I reached up and ran my thumb along her bottom lip. “I was thinking about you.”

She smiled. “Do you want to talk now?”

I laughed. “Well, I’d rather do other stuff.”

She rolled her eyes. How many times was that? Her arse was mine.“I only came because Ava said she didn’t know you were married. If she didn’t know, then that meant there might be a good reason.”

Great, now Ava knew I was married.

“You told her about us?”

She shook her head slightly. “I didn’t go into detail, and I waited until she made her decision about what to do with Trent. Looks like we won’t be representing them, so I asked her if she knew your wife. She didn’t. So I took a chance and asked her if I could come as her guest again because I needed to talk to you.”

Well, Ava did know my wife, but I wasn’t going to correct Peyton. “Okay, let’s go up to my room and talk.” I stood and reached out my hand.

She furrowed her brows. “Your room?”

“The one we were in last time,” I clarified.

She stood. “What do you mean by your room, though?”

“All Diamond members have a room.”

She blinked. “You spend twenty-thousand a month on a sex club?”

I grabbed her hand, needing to feel her soft skin on mine. “No, gorgeous. When I became a Diamond member, it was half that.”

“Ten thousand,” she whispered. “For one night a month.”

I leaned in and whispered in her ear, “I actually make money by coming here. A lot of my clients are members.”

“And your… um, wife?”

I shrugged. “She has money.” When Carrie’s father passed, she was left with a handsome Life Insurance policy because her parents were divorced and she was the sole beneficiary.

“But—”

“Let’s go upstairs where it’s quiet so I can explain.”

I saw her throat work as she swallowed then whispered, “Okay.”
