“Oh good, I won’t be the only wide-eyed chick walking in with this group.” Lorelei laughed and then took a sip of the champagne Booker had poured each of us.
Wanting to make more of a connection with Carrie, I asked, “What shade is on your eyes?”
“Honeylust.” She beamed.
I smiled knowing the color. “I’m aMACwhore. I have that color.”
Carrie turned her body to face me. “I’m aMACwhore too!”
“Oh Jesus,” Booker griped next to me.
I turned my head and glared at him. He shook his head, not saying anything further and then I turned back to Carrie. “I think I have almost every color. You never know when you’re going to need Bang on Blue, Electric Eel or Bio-Green.”
“I don’t think I have those. You should bring yours over, and we can compare.”
I smiled. “I’d like that.”
Booker squeezed my knee, and my heart squeezed in response. He’d finally realized what I was doing. Carrie and I might have started off rocky, but I was making an effort. An effort for him.
The limo finally pulled into the circular stone drive of the Beverly Hills mansion. They had added heat lamps along the stairs because even though it was early December and we lived in So Cal, there was still a chill in the air, especially when you were dressed in next to nothing.
We all exited the car, and Booker grabbed my hand. I had no idea what the plan was for tonight, but I wanted to check out everything and experience what Sensation was all about.
I watched as Taylor followed Carrie up the red carpeted stairs. Carrie showed the security man her card, and then she and Taylor went inside.
“Ready?” I asked Lorelei.
“Hell yeah.” She grinned.
“Then let’s go, sexy.” Randy hooked his arm for Lorelei to slip hers in, and then they ascended the stairs.
“Want to get a drink first?”
I looked up to Booker. “Yeah.” I thought for a moment. “Can we check out that room where there’s performers?”
“We can do anything you want.” He kissed my forehead and then flashed his card to the doorman. “Luke.”
“You have a group tonight,” Luke stated.
“We do, mate,” Booker agreed.
Luke looked down at the clipboard and then to me. “Peyton Winters. That name’s familiar.”
“I’ve been here a few times,” I clarified.
“Right. With…” He took a few seconds to think. “Ava Ashley.”
“Yep.” I smiled.
“Trying to keep everything straight. Ava came with Trent tonight even though the last two months she hasn’t. And I’ve never seen Booker bring anyone except Carrie.”
Well, that was good on both counts for me. Ava and Trent were working it out, and Booker never brought anyone to the club.
“I’m your first guest?” I asked Booker.
Booker nodded. “Never had anyone I wanted to bring.”
I smiled. “So I’m special?” I teased.
