We decided to get another drink before heading up to Booker’s room. As we stood at the Diamond member’s bar, Jason walked up. He didn’t look at us, didn’t say one single word. Instead, he ordered two drinks.
Booker looked down at me as we waited for our own and I gave a tight smile. “Are you happy about your decision?”
I didn’t need to know what he was referring to. “That’s debatable,” I teased.
He grinned, knowing I was only messing with him. Instead of responding, he grabbed my face and planted a firm, hard kiss on my lips. I melted into him, moaning as our tongues danced together. When we pulled apart, I grinned up at him.
“That’s one way to persuade me.”
We both laughed. The bartender placed our drinks in front of us, and Booker thanked him. Just as we were about to turn to walk away, we stopped, letting Jason go in front of us. From the sliver of view, I saw Jason drop something in the cola colored drink. Without thinking, I moved and grabbed his arm, making him spin around.
“Putting Rohypnol in someone’s drink again?”
He snorted. “Shut the fuck up, bitch.”
Booker stepped up and got in Jason’s face. “Watch your fucking mouth.”
“Tell her to mind her own fucking business then.”
“Do you know what I do for a living?” Booker asked him, inches from Jason’s face.
Jason blinked at Booker’s question. “Divorces.”
“Right, but I also know a lot of celebrities who have ties withStar Nation, and once they find out about your habit, you’ll be up shit creek, mate.”
Star Nationwas the hottest celebrity news television show. If you wanted to know what happened day to day in the life of your favorite celebrities, you’d watched the show.
“If you tell, then you break your confidentiality agreement with Sensation,” Jason spat back.
“You’re already breaking it.”
“What’s going on?” I watched as Gwen Walters walked up to us. She was an up and coming actress. I couldn’t say that I’d seen anything she starred in, but I knew who she was.
“Nothing. Let’s go,” Jason responded.
“Did you ask him to get you a drink?” I asked Gwen.
“Yeah, why?”
“He has a habit of slipping something in them. Be careful,” I answered. “He tried to do it to me not too long ago.”
Her green eyes flashed with confusion, and then she turned to Jason. “Is this true?”
“Of course not,” he lied.
“I’m not lying to you,” I pleaded and reached out to touch her arm.
Gwen looked to Jason and then back to me and then back to him. “Get me another drink.”
“Nothing’s wrong with this one.”
He went to hand her the beverage, but Booker grabbed it.
“Like I suggested last time, why don’t you take a sip first?”
I didn’t notice that a crowd had formed around us, but then I noticedhim. Savior was walking toward us, the unmistakable one in a mask, but Jason didn’t see because his back was facing that direction.
“I’m not taking a sip, asshole. This is Gwen’s drink.”
