She smiled but said no words in response. I didn’t need them. Even though she joked about it, I knew she didn’t want to go a night without me either.

Twenty minutes later, we pulled onto my street. After parking in the garage, I grabbed Peyton’s bag, and opened her door.

“Ready?” I asked, taking her hand in mine.

“Do I have a choice?”

I finally pressed my lips to hers. The moment they met, I realized I hadn’t kissed them since early that morning. “I’m going to say it one more time. I’ve got you. Carrie won’t be a bitch, and if she is, I’ll threaten her with a divorce.” I grinned.

Peyton slapped my chest. “Shut up.”

We walked into my house through the door of the garage that led to the kitchen. Carrie sat at the dining room table with another woman who I didn’t know.

“Peyton!” Carrie exclaimed and rushed to her. My hand fell away from Peyton’s as Carrie engulfed her in a hug. “It’s so nice to finally meet you. I mean, we met before, but that was—”

“She knows what it was, sweetheart. Peyton was there.” I cut Carrie off because I didn’t know who the other woman was, and I wasn’t sure if Peyton would be comfortable with a stranger knowing we go to a sex club.

“Right,” Carrie said, not moving her hands from Peyton’s shoulders. “I’m sorry about what I said and how I said it.”

Peyton gave a small smile. “Thank you. It’s fine now.”

Her eyes moved to me, and I smiled back. “All in the past,” I agreed.

“Good,” Carrie said.

“I’m Booker.” I stuck out my hand to the stranger at my dining room table.

“Taylor.” The blonde returned the gesture.

“Booker. Taylor’s my…” Carrie hesitated as she smiled at Taylor, and then turned back to me. “My girlfriend.”

“Oh.” I smiled down at Carrie. “This what you wanted to tell me?”

She bit her bottom lip. “Not entirely, but that can wait until after dinner. I think we should order the food and get some drinks going first.”

My head tilted slightly. “Now I’m really intrigued.”

“Don’t worry. I’m just hungry, and I’d rather tell you after the food is ordered.”

I sighed. “Okay. Grab the menu, and I’ll show Peyton to my room so we can put her stuff in there.”

Peyton followed me down the hall to the room that I’d never let a woman in except for Carrie and Amelia, and neither one of them ever sexually. I rarely spent time in my room except to sleep, so it was bare for the most part except my dresser, a nightstand with a lamp and clock on the top, and my bed. I had a picture of Big Ben on one wall to remind me of home, and that was it. Carrie was the one to decorate our house. It was, in fact, herhouse. She bought it not long after we graduated and married.

“You doing okay?” I asked as I closed the door behind me.

Peyton nodded. “Yep. Wasn’t expecting a hug or to meet yourwife’sgirlfriend.”

I chuckled. “I wasn’t expecting to meet my wife’s girlfriend either.”

Peyton sat on my bed. “From our conversation last month at Sensation, I’m sure this is new for her too.”

I rubbed the back of my neck. “Probably. I’m not sure what she wants to talk about, though.”

She shrugged. “Maybe just to understand this next part of your lives. You both haven’t had serious relationships since getting married. Maybe she wants ground rules or something. Like if the house is a rockin’ don’t come a knockin’ type a thing.”

I sat next to her. She leaned her head on my shoulder as I wrapped my arm around her. “The house has rocked a lot of times since we’ve been married. That hasn’t stopped her.”

“Then I guess we just wait until she’s ready.”
