“I want to go,” she cut me off. “You two can shower and stuff while we deal with the card and put it on the room. We’ll be back.”
They agreed and we left the room to see if anything was open at this time of night. It was Vegas, after all. If I had to drive somewhere, I would.
“Everything’s going to be okay.” I grabbed her hand and held it tight.
“Hope so. I can’t believe this is happening. It’s as if I’m having a—”
“Nightmare?”
“Exactly.”
I nodded. “I felt the same way when I walked into your house and saw you with Major Dick.”
“I can’t wait for this to be over,” she groaned.
I pressed the down button to the elevator. “It’s only the beginning, but I’m going to protect you, angel.”
She gave a tight smile. “Thank you.”
I brushed a piece of her hair away from her eyes that had fallen loose from her ponytail. “I hope you don’t get sick of me because I’m going to be with you every step of the way.”
“If I do, I’ll go hang out with Paul.” She laughed.
“He’s excited for you to stay with us.”
The elevator dinged and we entered.
“Really?” she asked.
“Yep. You won’t even be able to tell that my house is a bachelor pad. He cleaned and lit candles so it smells nice now.” We stepped into the empty car.
“That’s hilari—”
I grabbed her face with my hands and silenced her with my mouth just like I had the first and only time we’d kissed before. I couldn’t watch her mouth move any longer before I refreshed my memory with the way she tasted. She backed up, pressing into the back wall of the car, and wrapped her arms around my neck.
My hands stayed cupped to her face as my tongue slid into her mouth, sweeping a few times as it gathered her flavor. Touching, tasting and smelling her all at once was what I’d been dreaming about for so many nights. I wanted to stay against her forever. My dick started to stiffen as she moaned, kissing me back. I couldn’t wait to be buried inside her, our bodies covered with sweat as I watched her come apart beneath me.
The elevator came to a stop and we broke apart, not saying anything as I grabbed her hand again and led her out into the lobby. We found a small store in the Luxor that was open twenty-four hours and I paid for a pre-paid credit card with cash. Afterward, Autumn put the room on the card and we went back to tell her parents we’d return tomorrow.
“Thank you,” Dan said, sticking out his hand. I took it and we shook. “Please take care of my little girl.”
“I will. She means a lot to me.”
Autumn smiled warmly at me then said her goodbyes.
Holding her hand, I drove us to my place. It was going to be strange seeing her in my house. I’d wanted her there since the first day I saw her, and now everything was coming along as we both had hoped.
“You doing okay?” I asked, kissing the back of her hand.
She smiled. “Yeah. Now that my parents are taken care of, I’m wondering what Rich is doing. He’s probably at their house now.”
“Don’t worry about him. Paul and I got you, angel. Tomorrow we’ll make sure your parents have everything they need for a few days, and on Monday I’ll go with you to talk to an attorney.”
“I hope I can get an appointment that soon.”
“If you can’t, I’m sure I can find us something to do at my house.” I winked. I felt her hand tighten in my own. “I’m just joking. I know it’s going to take you some time. I’m not gonna lie though, seeing you in your dress tonight made my dick hard again.”
“Rich said I looked cute as if I was a five-year-old,” she mumbled, looking out the passenger side window.
