“Thanks.” I grabbed two bottles of beer from the fridge, and after popping the caps, I handed one to Vaughn. In the normal lighting, I finally saw that he had gray eyes that were almost blue. “Want to go outside? It’s a nice night.”

“Whatever you want to do.”

I took a long sip, needing to put myself at ease because this man made me nervous, but in a good way. I walked out through the sliding glass door that led to the back patio and turned on the fire pit. Vaughn and I sat on opposite sides of the long outdoor couch with the space of a cushion between us. I wanted to sit right beside him, but then I wasn’t sure if that would be too forward. Since Vaughn was the experienced one, I was letting him take the lead.

As if reading my mind, he teased, “Why are you so far away? I won’t bite.”

I took a deep breath and admitted, “I’m nervous.”

He grinned around the lip of his beer and took another sip. “There’s nothing to be nervous about. I came to hang out.”

I nodded and took a long pull of my own beer, but didn’t move because Iwasnervous. “All right. How long are you in town for?”

“We leave in the morning.”

“What’s your next stop?”

“Denver.”

“What time is your flight?”

Vaughn chuckled. “We’re driving.”

“Really?”

“We haven’t hit it big enough yet for us to be able to fly to each place.”

“You’ll get there. I love your album,” I declared and took another sip of my drink as I looked over him, seeing the flickering flames reflecting in his eyes.

“You’ve already listened to it?”

A blush crept up my neck. “I bought a digital copy the day after we met.”

“Yeah?” He beamed, and I nodded. “Thanks, man. I appreciate it.”

I snickered slightly. “To be honest, I was curious if you were any good.”

“And what did you think?”

I rubbed the back of my neck and admitted, “I listen to it while I run in the mornings.”

“Do you think about me specifically while you run?”

I furrowed my brows and turned slightly inward to face him. “It’s kinda hard not to when it’s your band.”

His gaze dropped to my lips and then back up to my eyes. “Yeah, but do you think about my hand stroking your dick since I’m using my hands to play my guitar?”

I threw my head back and laughed. “Do you think about me with each stadium you go to?”

“Yes,” he stated simply.

My eyes widened. “You do?”

He scooted the few feet that were between us and then cupped my cheek, running his thumb across my bottom lip. “I’ve thought of you every day and night since Sensation.”

“Me too,” I confessed as I stared into his gray eyes.

Vaughn’s thumb continued to graze across my lip. “Do you think about me as you get yourself off?”
