“Yeah.”

“Did you give it to him good?”

I rolled my eyes and scolded, “Leigh.”

“Fine. One of these days, I’ll get it out of you.”

“Whatever.” I laughed.

“Are you still coming to Sensation on Saturday?”

“I am.”

“Good. I can’t wait to see you two together.”

“All right, go get all dolled up. I gotta pack for Florida and then head to the field.”

“Okay, good luck tonight.”

“Thank you.”

I walked into the clubhouse with a smile on my face and a little pep in my step.

“Damn, Rogers. Is Leigh in town and you got laid last night or what?” Andrews teased.

If he only knew.“Leigh’s not in town. I’m just in a good mood.”

“Good.” He cupped my shoulder and squeezed as I stopped at my locker. “I’m going four for four tonight. You?”

I was happy that he’d changed the subject of my sex life to baseball so quickly. I nodded slightly. “Of course.” We could say we were going to get hits each time at bat, but that wasn’t realistic.

Andrews walked away, and I started to get dressed for the game.

We won our game at home, flew to Miami, and won that game, too. By the time I got to the hotel room, it was late, but still early enough in Denver. Plus, I’d told Vaughn I would call him, and I wanted to.

I missed him.

It was crazy to think that in such a short amount of time, I wanted to talk to him 24/7. I wanted to come home to him after every game so we could be together and get to know one another. It fucking sucked that we not only lived in different states, but we were both busy.

I changed out of my clothes and slid under the white sheets naked. Both Vaughn and I had slept naked in my bed, and I imagined that he was beside me while the phone rang in my ear after I’d dialed him.

“Hey!” he greeted but sounded a little out of breath. I could barely hear him because of the amount of noise in the background.

“Hey,” I said back.

“Hold on. I can’t fucking hear you.” I waited a few moments until he said, “Sorry. We’re still at the game.”

“Oh. I can just talk to you to—”

“No!” Vaughn cut me off. “I’ve missed you.”

I grinned wide, my heart skipping a little beat. “I’ve missed you too.”

“Did you win tonight?”

“Yeah.”

“I was able to catch the game last night, but not tonight since we’re here at Coors Field.”
