Frankie shrugged. "Tell him you don't know what to do with her body, and I'm bleeding out. I'm sure he'll want to be the one to finish me off for betraying him last night."
How did he betray Frank last night? Did he mean because instead of bringing Zell home after she ran, they went to find her mother?
"And then what do we do?" Quinn inquired. "I mean when he arrives."
"Well, I think once he gets here, he'll realize his time is over. The bitch is dead, his office is hopefully burned to a crisp at the warehouse, and the woman he's been keeping captive at a cabin is here."
I balked. He had been keeping Jackie captive at a cabin? How did they find her then? I wouldn't think Frank would want anyone to know that Zell's biological mother was alive because she could go to the cops.
"And what if he pulls his piece?" I questioned. I had no doubt he would. Frank didn't give a fuck, and I'd seen it firsthand.
"Then you and I need to be faster."
"Then maybe I should be the only one in the room," Jackie suggested. "It would throw him off."
"Yes." Frankie snapped his fingers, liking that idea. "Then I'll come in and finish him off. He doesn't knowwhereI was shot."
Frankie was going to kill his father? I didn't know the relationship they had, but at the end of the day, I would rather Frankie kill him than me. I didn't want or need that blood on my hands, and that was why it had been ten years without me doing something.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Quinn asked.
"I have to. It's the only way." Frankie replied.
I grabbed my phone and dialed Frank. He answered on the second ring. "Yeah?"
"Zell and Frankie showed up, sir. There was an altercation, and Saffron shot Frankie."
"She what?" he roared.
"I pulled my piece and shot her because I thought she was going to kill him."
"He's alive?"
"Yes, sir. I'm not sure what to do. She's dead, and he's bleeding out."
"I'll be right there." He hung up, and I stuck my phone back into my pocket. "He's on his way."
"Perfect," Frankie responded. "Mom, can I talk to you for a second?"
"Of course," she replied.
They walked out of the room, and all the women continued to stand around. "What should we do?" Erin asked.
"I don't want any of you here when he comes. This is the time to leave," I replied.
"Where are we supposed to go?" Leanne questioned.
"Let me talk to Frankie. Apparently, he has secret places," I replied.
"He does?" Zell asked.
"The cabin?" I asked.
"It's Mr. Russo’s. He was keeping my mom there for eighteen years."
"Where is it?" I inquired.
Zell shrugged. "I don't know. It's far."
