“Guess what?” I whispered into Luke’s ear as he lay next to me. Even though his eyes were closed, I knew he was awake.
“What?”
“The world knows about us.”
“Yeah?” He rolled, taking me with him, so I was on top of him. “And how does that make you feel, Ms. Borelli?”
“Happy,” I answered honestly. “And you, Mr. Davenport?”
“Like the luckiest man alive.”

Filming was almost over.We only had a few scenes left to shoot, and one of them was the snowball fight. Since it was almost August, there was no snow in sight, but production had created a set that would have fake snow made from biodegradable paper, but the snowballs would be real.
After shooting the parade scene, the sun had gone down, and Luke escorted me to my trailer, where we were greeted by Amore. “Hey, buddy. Pretty soon we’re going to blow this popsicle stand.”
Though, we still didn’t have a place to call home.
“Frankie!” Emily called just as Luke was shutting the door to the trailer behind him.
I looked up from scratching Amore’s ruff. “Yeah?”
“There’s an offer on your house.” She reached out her hand with her phone.
I took the phone from her, looking at the email my realtor had sent over. The couple that wanted to buy my house had offered seven percent over asking. Even though it was the first offer, I was taking it. “Email her back and let her know I accept. Also, it can be a thirty-day close if they want.”
“Okay,” Emily replied, taking her phone from me and started to type out a reply.
I turned to Luke. “So, I’m homeless for real now.”
“I’m sure we’ll find the perfect house for us. If not, I’m fine with finding another place to rent when we get back. Which reminds me, I need to call the apartment manager and give him my thirty-day notice.”
“Since I’m not having luck with houses, maybe we should look at temporary apartments in a high rise or something,” I suggested as I took a seat on the small couch in the trailer. I was tired. Filming long days and not wanting to sleep when Luke and I could do other things was starting to take a toll on me.
“Whatever you want to do,” Luke said.
“What I want to do is take a nap.” I yawned. “But we have plans.”
“Let’s just head back to the resort and do room service,” Luke suggested.
“I can call them and place the order, so it’s ready when you get there,” Emily offered.
I shook my head. “Nope. I have a surprise for Luke, remember?”
Luke balked. “For me?”
I nodded. “Yep, and it doesn’t involve the bedroom. Well, at least not at first.” I smirked.
“So, that’s my cue to leave. I’ll see you two tomorrow.” Emily waved goodbye.
“What’s the surprise, Franks?” Luke questioned.
I wagged my finger at him. “That’s not how surprises work. Let me change, and then we can go. We can even take Amore to this surprise.”
He arched a brow. “You have me intrigued.”
Even though Emily had suggested ordering room service for Luke and me, she knew of the surprise and had helped set it up. It wasn’t too extravagant, and Luke might not like it at all, but I thought it would be a pleasant surprise.
