I rolled my eyes. “You know it’s not, though I could go for some spaghetti right now.”

“I’ll make you some when we get home.” He kissed my cheek.

I munched on the popcorn as we headed home, and then an overwhelming craving hit for something sweet and salty and tangy. I sucked in a breath. “I need one of those Japanese hot dogs.”

“What?” He grunted a laugh.

“The ones in Santa Monica.”

“We’re almost home, and I can make you spaghetti with meat sauce.”

“That doesn’t sound good anymore. I want one of those hot dogs.”

“You want me to drive to the Santa Monica Pier and get you a hot dog?”

I nodded.

“These pregnancy cravings are going to kill me.”

“Please?” I begged. “The baby wants one, and plus, I never got to finish my first one.”

“All right.” Luke lowered the privacy glass. “Rowan, we’re going to need you to step on it.”

“Yes, sir,” he replied.

I did a little happy dance in my seat as I stuffed another handful of popcorn into my mouth.

Pregnancy was no joke.

Less than twenty minutes later, the limo pulled into our driveway. Luke helped me out, and as we walked to the front door, the car left.

“You still want that hot dog?” he asked, punching the code into the lock on the front door.

“Um, yeah.” I stepped inside as he turned off the alarm.

“Let me grab my keys, and I’ll go.”

“I love you soooo much,” I stated.

“What happens if I don’t make it in time before they close? Will you still love me?”

My eyes widened. “Don’t joke like that. Just go.”

Luke chuckled and grabbed his keys from the hook by the garage door. “Set the alarm after I leave.”

“Will do. I’m going to shower while you’re gone.”

He kissed me quickly. “All right. See you soon.”

I closed the door, and after his car pulled out of the garage, I set the alarm. It was then I realized the house was too quiet, and Amore hadn’t greeted us at the door.

“Amore!” I called, walking into the living room. “Here, boy.”

Nothing.

“Amore!” I said again, walking down the hall toward our bedroom. “Where are you?”
