I paused, not sure if I’d heard her correctly.

“That is if you’re still willing.”

I toed off my last boot and turned back to face her. “Yeah, I’m still willing. When?”

Deb adverted her gaze. “Tonight. I have arealdate tomorrow.”

“You finally said yes?”

“He switched it from dinner to lunch, and I figured I can do lunch. Lunch doesn’t mean sex.”

I snickered. “Sex is always on the table, Debs.”

“Really?”

“I mean, for me at least.”

“But it’s just lunch.”

“Just don’t invite him in for coffee and you’re good.”

“Coffee?”

“That’s code for sex. Or so I’ve seen on TV.”

“Right.” Deb laughed. “I’m actually meeting him at the café in town.”

“Then you’ll be fine.”

“But I still want to do a practice run with you. I don’t know how to go on a date.”

I didn’t think Deb would have any problem dating. She was gorgeous, kind, funny, smart, and it seemed she could talk to anyone. She'd had no problem talking to me when we first met.

“Okay. Let’s do this.”

Thirty minutes later,I was showered and ready to go. Even with the Texas heat, I opted for jeans and a blue, button-down shirt. When I walked into the living room, Deb was waiting for me dressed in tight jeans and a tank top. I didn’t know where we were going, but I loved the fact that her shirt showed off her assets.

“Ready?” she asked.

I smiled. “I am.” I hadn’t left the farm since I’d arrived. On the weekends, I slept in, watched TV, and just relaxed. I even swam and fished. I had to admit, I was excited to see the town of Medina.

“Great.” She started to walk toward the garage.

“Wait. Shouldn’t I drive?”

“You’re not driving my car.” Deb chuckled sarcastically.

“But I’m taking you on a date.”

“You’re buying me dinner,” she countered.

“Same thing,” I protested.

“Get in the car.” She shook her head with a smile and continued to the garage.

“Oh, before I forget. We have new guests checking in tomorrow in the guest house, but there are a few light bulbs out. Do you think you can change them before they arrive?”
