“That works. See you after you win.” He winked.

I smiled and turned back toward where my teammates were still warming up. My eyes moved to Baylor as he was down on the ice doing the frog pose stretch. His hips rocked back and forth slightly and images of him naked with him on top of me flashed through my mind.

Shaking my head, I skated to the blue line and continued to warm up for the game.

Even though we won,the guys decided not to go out to Flanagan’s to celebrate since we had to be on a flight to Texas in the morning to face the Stars. But I was still going out to catch up with Hayden. It had been over five months since I’d seen him.

With his busy schedule, me getting hurt and dealing with rehab, and then continuing with the season, we just hadn’t found time to get together.

Entering the Irish pub, I spotted Hayden in the back at a table and made my way toward him, shaking hands and giving people high-fives.

“Nice win tonight,” one man said.

“Thanks,” I replied.

Once I got to Hayden, he stood, and we gave each other a bro hug.

“Good game, man,” he praised.

I smiled and bobbed my head slightly. “Not a bad one at all.”

“Nope. Playoffs will be soon.”

If everything worked out, we would make the playoffs in a few weeks.

“Yep, and maybe finally win the Cup.” In my eight years of playing, I had yet to win the Stanley Cup. We hadn’t made the playoffs the previous season, and I’d hoped we would this year since we were playing really well. I signaled to the bartender that we wanted two beers and then we took a seat at the table. “Get any good shots tonight?”

“Hope so. Won’t know for sure until I go home and look at them before sending them in.”

“Hopefully you got a shot of my goal.”

“I did.” Hayden grinned. “Seems your collarbone is all healed.”

“Yeah.” I nodded. “Thankfully, I didn’t need surgery, or I’d probably still be out.”

“That would suck.”

“At least for me. The guys did good while I was out.”

“But even better with you back.”

“Keeping tabs on us?” I teased.

Hayden snorted a laugh while the bartender put our beers in front of us. I’d tip him well for going above and beyond and not making me go up to the bar to order our drinks.

“You know I’m a Bruins fan,” Hayden replied.

“I know.” I took a sip of the lager. “Have you converted Tyler?”

“Oh yeah. He watches the games with me if neither of us are working.”

“You two should come and not just as the press.”

“Maybe. I’m covering the Celtics now and next will be the Red Sox.”

“Well, definitely before baseball season. Then you’ll be working every day pretty much.”

“Not many games left to make that happen and I can’t afford a playoff ticket.”
