“Tonight?” He blinked.

I shrugged a shoulder. “We’re in Vegas and almost everyone we’d invite is here. Why not?”

He looked around and then up to where the VIP suite was, where his parents and grandparents were. “Yeah, let’s do it.”

I couldn’t believewe were getting married, but it felt right. Coop and I had been through so much, and it was time for us to get our happy ending.

“Oh, my gosh.” Diane came up to us. “Did you just propose?”

A grin spread across my man’s face. “I did.”

His mom wrapped her arms around his neck and then did the same to me. “This is amazing.”

“Congratulations, Son.” Jason clapped his son on the back. “What a night.”

“That’s not all. We’re going to get married tonight.” I beamed.

“What?” Diane gasped.

“We figured since everyone is here, we might as well do it now,” Coop explained.

Diane hugged us again. “I’m so happy for you both.”

“Hey, Coop!” Butcher called out. I didn’t think he or any of the other guys had seen the proposal, since they had all been celebrating with their own families. “We’re heading to the locker room.”

“Be right there,” Coop shouted back. “I need to do some team stuff, but I’ll meet you at the hotel as soon as I’m done. We can figure out where to get married then.”

“Okay. See you soon, baby.” I kissed him again before he rejoined his teammates.

He headed toward the tunnel while Diane, Jason, and I exited the ice.

Once we reached the concourse, Kaylee ran up to me and jumped into my arms. “Did that just really happen?”

I couldn’t help but smile at my parents, grandparents, Hayden and Tyler behind her. “Yeah. Coop and I are engaged.” I held up my left hand, showing off the ring on my finger.

Mom clasped her hands in front of her chest. “Oh, sweetheart, I’m so happy for you.”

Kaylee stepped aside to make room for me to embrace my family. Soon, I was engulfed in hugs as they showered me with congratulations and well wishes, and I knew the memory of sharing this moment with my parents and grandparents would stay with me forever.

“That’s not all,” I stated. “We’re getting married tonight.”

The announcement sent everyone into a frenzy, all of them speaking at once, and I glanced at Hayden and Tyler. Part of me was nervous to see their reaction. Would they think Coop and I were being impulsive? Would it matter if they did?

Hayden approached me first. “Ford, I’m really happy for you guys.”

“Yeah, you both deserve to be happy,” Tyler added. “And I’m glad you found happiness with each other.”

My smile widened. “Thanks. You have no idea how much that means to me.”

“So, what’s the plan?” Kaylee asked.

“Coop’s going to meet us at the hotel, and then we’ll figure out where to go. I don’t know what we need to do to get married.”

We started walking out of the arena to the cars Coop had hired to drive us to and from the hotel. It took a while to make our way outside, and while we waited for our rides to pull up, Tyler waved me over.
