Jace’s lips grazed my neck, his teeth skimming my pulse. “Let’s go,” he breathed against my ear, his palm still on my ass as he guided me alongside him.

Darius made small talk with our escort—another vampire based on how Darius and Jace addressed him. His commentary included a summary of the grounds and where the restaurants and entertainment venues were located.

Jace hummed in noncommittal interest, his hand shifting to my hip as he lazily draped his arm along my lower back.

We paused by a set of elevators.

Then we took two separate cars upstairs, our entourage having grown with the humans pushing our belongings up in carts.

Jace and I were with one of them, the male hunching as he attempted to disappear into the corner. I could only see him because the interior of the elevator was made of glass, including the floor, allowing me to see various angles all throughout the small space.

A pair of silver-blue eyes met mine during my search, the depths holding a mischievous glint.

Because Jace could see me investigating and knew exactly what I was doing.

Yet rather than admonish me, he gave me a playful wink before staring expectantly at the doors.

They opened half a second later, displaying obsidian floors and more floral scents.

We stepped out and took a right. Darius and the others arrived, his voice an echo behind us as Jace led the way through a pair of doors.

The black tiles gave way into a cream carpet, the texture plushy beneath my heels. Jace’s arm tightened around me as though he anticipated my wobble, but I held myself steady and moved with an elegance that I forced through my limbs.

More light spilled into the room, illuminating a set of two dark couches, matching chairs, and a marble coffee table.

There appeared to be a step ahead, which took us to a wood floor that led to the windows.

Dining area, I guessed.Maybe a kitchen?Although, I suspected that might be to my left where the carpet turned into a slate-colored marble.

Our escort explained the dimming features of the windows, something Darius immediately took advantage of, painting the room in shadows. A dull light flickered to life next, ruining the ambience of the room.

I much preferred the natural sunlight. Probably because I’d never really experienced it until this week.

The escort continued with a tour of the room, explaining the amenities of the kitchen, which was indeed located near the slate-colored marble. Then he led us to the dining area and toward a hallway with two bedrooms.

Both were master suites with elegant furnishings and generously sized bathrooms. I barely paid any attention to the escort’s musings, my focus on walking steadily over the plush carpet.

Jace picked the room farthest away from the living area, stating he liked the wraparound balcony. I almost looked, my curiosity for the potential view overriding my need to remain submissive.

But I caught the urge quickly and swallowed it.

“Thank you for your assistance, Mauritius. Perhaps you’ll join us one night for dinner?” Jace asked.

“It would be my honor, My Prince,” the escort replied.

“Brilliant. Darius will assist you with the details.” Jace released my hip, leaving me in the center of the room. “Calina, I’m going to walk Mauritius to the door. I expect to find you on that bed in just those stockings when I return. Present yourself appropriately for me and I’ll reward you.”

The door closed before I could react. Not that I knew what to say or how to respond. He’d said there were cameras everywhere, that my submissive role applied even in our hotel room.

Which meant I needed to strip out of this dress and shoes.

And present myself on the bed.

Appropriately.

Whatever the hell that means.
