Fortunately, it seemed he approved of my mating his daughter.

“I liked your home between the realms,” she said softly, her lips curling. “All those kitchens.”

“You just liked stealing my food.”

“You are a decent chef.”

“Decent?” I echoed, my eyebrow cocking. “Try spectacular.”

“Hmm. I’ll need you to prove that.” Her irises sparkled. “So I guess we’ll need to rebuild those kitchens and bookshelves.”

“And the armory,” I added, aware of her real desire. “Maybe I’ll create one for you.”

“Promise you will and I’ll agree to living between the realms.”

“Consider it a vow,” I told her.

“Then take me home, Archangel.” She pressed her forehead to mine. “Take me to our future.”

My lips swept across hers. “Hold on and don’t let go, Kayla. I don’t want to risk you goingelsewhere,” I whispered to her, echoing words similar to the ones I’d given her during our very first descent to Hell.

But now we were ascending.

Something I’d told her once would be nearly impossible to do, back when I’d known I would have to leave her in Hell with Bael.

This time, I ascended with her in my arms.

Taking her home.

To the center of my world.

To a place where she would rule—as queen.

“Is therea reason I need to wear this?” I asked, gesturing at the blindfold covering my eyes. “Because I’m all into kinky shit, but this makes walking a bit difficult.”

“Balance with your feathers,” Ezra replied, his fingers skating the upper edges of my wings. “And trust me to guide you.” His opposite hand tightened against my hip as he continued pushing me forward.

“So this is a game of trust.”

“Yes,” he confirmed, maneuvering me down another hallway in our newly built home.

It was similar to his former manor, but with a few modifications.

The mansion still had a three-story library with all open-air windows. Five main kitchens framed by a patio for outdoor eating. An entire wing devoted to our personal quarters—equipped with a sparring area, a pair of sitting rooms, another kitchen filled with essentials, a massive bedroom built for beings with wings, and an equally large bathroom crafted to accommodate showering and bathing together.

And two outdoor homes for guests.

My Royal Guard permanently resided in one of them with Yaz serving as the leader. The other home was there for visitors.

Like Johanna and my father.

They’d already stopped by twice.
