I couldn’t blame him.

His job was literally to protect Ander, and in Ander’s absence, he led the sector.

If Riley and I agreed to remain here, it would become my job to guard them all and essentially act as an enforcer.

Which I would do.

So long as they understood that Riley would always come first for me.

“First and foremost, I will expect appropriate protection for my mate. Atalltimes.” Which included her heat cycles.

Ander nodded. “We are in the process of developing suites to help mask scents. These suites are also being built with state-of-the-art technology that makes access by unauthorized users nearly impossible.”

“That’s why I mentioned having a secondary location,” Elias said. “I would recommend either taking one of these suites full-time or maintaining it as a second home for special circumstances.”

“Both of which we will offer,” Ander added. “Dr. Campbell is bringing us a wealth of knowledge and expertise. We are willing to offer whatever you need to make your stay here permanent.”

Elias dipped his chin, the two Alphas clearly in sync. I suspected they’d been friends for a while.

“I would like to review the suite option during our tour,” I informed them both.

“Consider it done,” Ander replied, his eyebrow arching. “What else?”

I met his gaze and held it. “You will never reprimand my mate. If she does something that offends you, you inform me and I will handle her punishment.”

Riley inhaled sharply beside me, causing me to look at her.

“We both know this is a requirement,” I told her. “I won’t let anyone discipline you except for me.”

She bristled. “Who says I ever need to be disciplined?”

I merely stared at her until her cheeks turned a pretty pink.

“I’m not a pet meant to obey every order,” she muttered.

“Never a pet,” I agreed. “Just my feisty Omega who has no trouble bossing Alphas around.”

“Only when they need a stern word,” she returned.

I smiled and looked expectantly at Ander.

“Noted,” he replied, still stoic.

Meanwhile, Elias seemed to be looking at Riley with a bit more adoration in his gaze.

Yeah, my Omega likes being a brat, I thought at him.But she’smybrat.

“If anyone touches her in reprimand or otherwise, I will take that as a direct challenge. And that won’t end well for anyone involved,” I added, ensuring they heard and understood me.

I had no doubt Riley would one day piss off Ander.

She was all fiery energy and passion, while he exuded calm and maintained an unflappable air. That combination of personalities would either be a perfect match or end in conflict.

So I wanted it known now that he would not be the one to discipline her.

Iwould.

And only me.
