What did it mean?

Why did I care about Melek’s intentions for Camillia?

Does Lucifer know? Is that all part of this elaborate test?

Wouldn’t Az know about this, too? He was mate-bonded to Lucifer. He’d have to know if Camillia was potentially going to join Melek and Lucifer’s dynamic.

Camillia tugged on my hair again, her gray eyes capturing mine once more. “Warden.”

“Rebel,” I returned.

“Touch me.”

I grinned against her wet lace. “I am.”

She released an impatient sound, her legs releasing my neck. “If you’re going to be difficult, then I’ll just go handle myself.”

I grabbed her hips as she tried to shimmy her way out from beneath me. Then I crawled up her sexy form and caged her with my arms. “Tell me what you want, little rebel, and I’ll consider giving it to you.”

Oh, it was a dangerous game I’d just started. But I couldn’t help it.

She was temptation incarnate. A prize I wasn’t meant to win. A female entirely out of my league.

But I had her pinned to the ground with her weeping heat right against my aching groin.

Because she wants me.She’d admitted it aloud, bringing all my dirty fantasies to life.

Melek might intend to claim her. But I was the one who had her now.

Maybe that was exactly what he wanted. Why else would he leave me with that enchanting drawing of Camillia wrapped up in rope?

I glanced at it now, the paper having been discarded to the side when Camillia had rolled.

It really was a work of art, her bound, naked body primed by silky strands. It made me want to nibble on her exposed nipples while tugging against the carefully placed knot between her thighs.

“Is that what you want?” I pressed, nodding at the drawing. “To be tied up?”

She swallowed. “I… I want your kinks. Your preferences.You.”

I blinked down at her in surprise. “You’d prefer that over being dressed up in silky ribbons?”

“I’d prefer to experience you, Ajax. Your desires. Not Melek’s.” She lifted her palm to my face, her eyes taking on an intense gleam. “Az isn’t here to direct. Melek’s image served its purpose. As did my outfit, I think. Now I just want you.”

My gaze slid down to her neck and to the robe falling off her shoulders. “You wore this for me?” I asked, amused.

“I wore it for me,” she corrected. “But also to see how you reacted to it.” Her fingers slid into my hair again, her touch drawing my focus back up to her eyes. “I want you, Ajax.”

“I want you, too, Camillia,” I admitted.

Part of me had wondered if Az’s Phoenix had influenced our last two encounters, his seductive animal a natural beacon of sensuality and grace. While I’d known that I’d craved her—and still very much did—I hadn’t been sure of her true inclinations.

Az’s Phoenix was a powerful influencer, capable of hypnotizing its prey without even trying. Knowing that Camillia desired me now, here, alone, had my body tightening in unadulterated expectation.

She wants me. Just Ajax. Right here. Right now.

And it wasn’t because of Melek’s influence either; it was because ofme.

How can I deny this?I marveled. Whyam I even trying?
