Lying in…I blink, then squint up into a pair of devastatingly dark eyes.I’m lying in Kaspian’s lap.

His strong legs cradle my backside, one muscular arm wrapped around my shoulders.

We’re on the floor.

And there are two other men staring down at me, too.

Nox and Bane.

They’re seated beside Kaspian, all three of them bracing their backs against the couch.

I frown, unsure of how I ended up here. The coffee table has been moved, as have some of the other pieces of furniture, leaving the four of us in the center of the living area with only the sofa.

“Who’s Issy?” Kaspian asks again, his gaze burning into mine as I finally refocus on his face.

I stare up at him. “What?”

“Tell us who Issy is,” he repeats.

I shake my head, my mind clearing more and more with each passing second.Issy. Patriarch. Words spoken aloud…

Fuck.

How much did I say?I wonder. How much did I reveal?

I can’t remember what I mentally voiced versus physically voiced.

But given the expressions of the three men studying me intently now, I’m guessing I said a lot. Including revealing my sister’s name.

They won’t know who she is, though,I realize. They’re not from the syndicate world.

So technically, it can’t hurt to admit who she is, right?

Except my Gold and Garnet record states my family is dead. And I haven’t refuted that fact.

My lips twist to the side.Maybe I can say she’s dead? That’s what the majority of the syndicate believes already anyway, so it can’t hurt.

I’ll… I’ll say it’s a memory.

A bad dream.

A nightmare.

The phantoms are familiar with those. This incident will be no different.

“She’s…” I clear my throat, the scratchy quality of my voice suggesting I did a lot more than speak some words out loud—I obviously screamed at some points, too. “Issy… she’s my sister.”

CHAPTERFIFTEEN

KASPIAN

“Sister?”I repeat.

“My twin,” Fallon clarifies. “Yes.”

“What’s happening to your twin?” I ask. “How can we help her?”

Fallon’s blonde eyelashes flutter as she blinks, surprise seeming to color her features. “Help her?”
