Adrian ducked his head again and sighed. “My dad’s never quiet. Always saying stuff like, ‘Adrian, you need to get your life together,’ or ‘you’re useless’. There’s always something he’s not happy with. Over the last few days, he hasn’t said a thing. Barely even knows I’m there. Mom keeps asking him if something happened, and he brushes her off. His phone’s been ringing off the hook and he’s ignoring it. I know he’s an asshole, but I was worried and checked his phone when he was in the shower. One of his girls, Melody, keeps calling. There are about fifteen missed calls from her. Dad’s in love with her, he’d never ignore her.”

Forrest frowned. “Do you think he’s in trouble?”

“Maybe? I don’t know. The weird thing is, he’s usually always going on about the crime in New York. He loves ranting about the Killough Company. He hasn’t said a word about it since the last time we spoke.” Adrian looked at Forrest. “And then I get this invitation. Did you tell them about my father?”

Forrest didn’t know if he should lie or not. Nobody said he couldn’t tell Adrian the truth, but Forrest had no idea what Killough did or didn’t do. He couldn’t say if this quietness was because of the information he’d passed on. “I told them, yeah. They weren’t very worried about him. Their main focus is Diaz.”

“But my father is part of the problem, Forrest. They all know that.” Adrian touched the leather of the cushions. “Could they have said something to him?”

Forrest huffed out a long sigh. “I can’t tell you what I know, Adrian. I work for Sloan Killough, and my loyalty is to him.”

“And my loyalty should be to my father.”

The man beside them moaned, and it reminded Forrest they weren’t alone. The client wasn’t listening while he had Angel deep throating him like that, though. The client’s moans intensified and his hips began moving in erratic jerks. He chanted “fuck” like a prayer and it was all over in seconds. Angel swallowed around him before he pulled off and licked at his hand that had been wrapped around the base of the man’s dick.

“Thanks. That was nice.” Angel made a show of sucking his finger into his mouth.

The client grinned stupidly and zipped himself up. “Give me time to recover, then I’ll fuck you.”

“I can’t wait.” Angel sent him a dazzling smile and when the client stumbled away, it dropped off his face. “Ugh. He’s disgusting.” He glanced at Adrian and Forrest, brown eyebrows raised curiously. “Am I interrupting something?”

Forrest snorted. “Looks like we were interrupting you.”

Angel rolled his eyes. “No interruption there. It barely lasted. I’m going to wash out my mouth with the strongest alcohol I can find.” He rose gracefully, and then he sauntered off.

Forrest didn’t miss the way Adrian’s eyes followed Angel hungrily, and to Forrest’s surprise, he wasn’t worried about losing a client like he might have been months ago, especially not to Angel. Angel was as close to a brother as Forrest would ever get.

“Who’s that?” Adrian asked, almost shyly.

Forrest patted him on the shoulder. “That’s Angel. You should go introduce yourself.”

Adrian turned wide eyes on him. “Are you sure?”

“Yes.” He leaned a little closer, keeping his voice down low. “Adrian, whatever happens, keep yourself away from what your father is doing with Diaz. I don’t know what Killough plans to do because I’m not part of their company, I only work for them, but I want you to be safe. Promise me you’ll keep away from Diaz.”

“Do you think I’d be collateral damage?” Adrian’s dark brows drew together in concern.

I licked my dry lips and shrugged. “Anyone could be collateral damage when it comes to making money, or proving who’s got a bigger dick.”

The corner of Adrian’s lips twitched. “Isn’t that the truth.”

“Go on, go introduce yourself to Angel. He’ll be at the bar in the waiting room, away from prying eyes and getting rid of the taste in his mouth.”

“Does he… uh, do that with all the guys?”

Forrest laughed. “Nope. That is an asshole. We all hate him. He takes his turn with different professionals, and he’s as selfish as they come. He never cares about his lover’s pleasure. Not like you.”

“Ah.” Adrian’s face twisted in disgust and then he jumped to his feet and moved toward the bar. Forrest watched him go with a smile before he rose and headed back into the crowd of partygoers. The music thumped at the walls of the building, but they didn’t need to worry about people calling the cops. Killough had bought the buildings around the Virtue and torn down the walls to make it bigger on the inside. The walls were then soundproofed to stop any nosy neighbors. It was like living in a sound booth.

Some of the workers were dancing with the high rollers, rubbing their bodies against the men and women like they were trying to hump them. Clothing ranged from some being fully dressed while others, mostly workers, were naked and getting friction against their bare bodies however they could. Forrest sighted Ryder in the corner, riding a gray-haired politician’s cock.

He rolled his eyes.Figures. Ryder got his name for a reason. He liked to be a cowboy.

“Forrest, what are you doing?” Rourke strode toward him, shoulders tense in his suit as he neared. “You’re supposed to be mingling with the clients.”

Forrest didn’t roll his eyes, but it was close. “I am. I just finished with Adrian.” He didn’t miss the way Rourke’s hand tightened around a glass of whiskey he held. “Can I have a drink of that?”

“No.” Rourke’s eyes flashed dangerously, and an excited shiver shot down Forrest’s spine. He should have been angry at Rourke, but Forrest had never been the type of person who held grudges.Lie.
