Peter smirked. “I haven’t. He’s the doctor, right?”

“Yeah,” Ethan said as Brandy grabbed hold of Peter’s forearm, and a silent conversation passed between the two friends.

“Two birds, one stone,” Brandy muttered.

Peter winked at her as Ryan pulled her to him. Ethan waved at Max, who stood on Peter’s other side, for him to come closer as Carter crossed his arms over his chest.

“What’s going on over there?” Junior called, being ever observant.

“Peter’s going to show us if Carter is Santa Claus,” Serena said with amusement.

“Your sisters-in-law?” Peter asked Brandy.

Brandy waved him off. “Let them enjoy the show,” she said before yelping and looking up at Ryan. “I was kidding… kind of.”

Serena chuckled.

Ethan turned toward Serena and raised a brow. “You’ve seen Peter…”

Serena patted his cheek. “You see one werewolf, you’ve seen them all.”

“What are you doing?” Junior called as Peter tugged his shirt over his head and handed it to Brandy.

“I prefer having clothes to change into when I’m done,” Peter replied as he toed off his shoes and unbuttoned his pants.

“He’s getting naked?” Debbie asked a little too excitedly.

In less than a minute, Peter stood naked and his eyes glowed gold as the magic of his change began to pulsate around him. Ethan watched the expression on Carter’s face go from cynical to surprise and finally to fear.

Turning to face Peter, Ethan found the space empty until his gaze moved down. Peter shook and moved forward, rubbing himself across Brandy’s legs.

Ryan took her weight so she would not tip over. “Watch it, buddy, lady carrying a baby!”

Peter nodded at Ryan and rubbed the side of his face against Brandy’s growing belly.

“Holy shit,” Max whispered from Ethan’s side, and Peter turned toward him. No one moved as Peter crossed the space and sat at Max’s feet. Peter was as large as a Great Dane, reaching Max’s waist.

“He won’t hurt you,” Ryan said.

“Didn’t a werewolf kill Dad?” James asked, his voice closer now that he had joined their circle.

“Yes, but Peter won’t hurt any of us.”

Chapter 30

“Can you hear him?” Serena asked as she moved closer.

Max looked at everyone before lowering to look Peter in the eyes. No one spoke or breathed as the man and werewolf stared at each other.

Serena turned toward Carter. “No Santa Claus, I see.”

Ethan wrapped a hand around her upper arm and gave it a light squeeze. “Be nice, angel.”

“No. Carter’s been a bit of a skeptical jackass, even with me,” Brandy snapped and moved to Serena’s side. “You owe Peter an apology. Hell, you owe all of us an apology, includingyourself.”

“How do you know he won’t turn on you?” Carter asked, his gaze glued to Peter.

Max chuckled, and everyone turned back to the man and werewolf. “Peter said to quit being a dick. It’s unbecoming of a doctor.”
