Both Grayson and Kaleb chuckled.

The bear’s muzzle wiggled with annoyance. “MynameisBear.”

“Bear?”

“My parents thought they were being clever.”

“If you’re feeling better, big guy, let’s head to the house and get clothes,” Kaleb said, slithering toward the truck.

“Nice meeting you, Aileen.”

I watched the large black bear trudge off in the direction of the snake. My brows knit in confusion when they passed the truck. “Where are they going?”

“To my house. I noticed you didn’t deny being mine,” he said, running his nose along my neck.

I dropped my head to the side, completely involuntarily, my eyes fluttering closed when he pressed open-mouthed kisses along my sensitive flesh. “Your… house?”

“Mhmm…” he muttered, the sound vibrating along my skin and straight down to my girly bits. Cheese on a cracker, I was in trouble. “When you’re ready, I plan on biting yourighthere.” He punctuated the word with a flick of his tongue, and I jumped from his lap.

Since our first kiss, it had become harder to fight the urge to climb him like a tree. Seeing his bare chest was not helping the matter. Or him in gray sweatpants that left nothing to the imagination, especially with the tent he was sporting.

I spun on my heels as I gulped in a few breaths. I was grateful when no visions were sparked by the earthy scent of the forest at my back. To my left, I found a slack-jawed Cami fanning herself as she admired Grayson—myGrayson.

Blocking him from my cousin’s admiring gaze, I slammed my hands on my hips and glared. Cami shot me a sheepish grin before waving her fingers and doing a U-turn.

“Jealous?” he whispered along the shell of my ear, and I didn’t know whether to swoon at the delicious sensation or jump in surprise.

I growled at him in response and waved my hands behind me to scootch him away. Only, I made contact, and by the way he doubled over, the contact hadn’t been lightly. “Oh, puck! I am so sorry.”

It was his turn to glare at me. “Not the puck, baby. The hard hockey stick,” he bit out between his teeth. “Maybe you should kiss—”

“Grayson!” I squealed and covered my face.

“We’ll work up to that too, I suppose,” he muttered and stood a bit hunched after another minute. “Come on.”

I took in the area for the first time since we’d arrived, and I stilled. The spot where the truck had hit the tree was off a dirt road—the same dirt road I’d teleported to and the very same one that led to the beautiful home at the end.

“Lee?” Grayson asked as he stepped into my line of sight.

I forced my gaze along the tan skin of his pecs to his concerned blue-green eyes taking me in. “Hmm?”

“What’s wrong? Did you have a vision? You got all… you know.”

“That’s your house?”

“Yeah, my Grannie Livi left it to me. The boys moved in with me and have been helping me fix it up since we got to town.” He wrapped an arm around my waist. “Come on, I’ll give you a tour before getting you back to town.”

The entire walk to the house was in silence. My mind reeled as I tried to understand why I’d teleported to Grayson’s house. By the time we reached the spot where I had once stood admiring the house, which I had thought belonged to some unknown killer in a horror film, I was shaking like a leaf.

“Okay, I’ve given you some quiet, but…” He paused to stand before me and rubbed heat into my cold arms. “Now you’re worrying me, Lee. What’s going on in that brilliant mind of yours?”

I was suddenly a teen once again, standing with her best friend, who knew her secrets and loved her all the same. Not that I’d had much worth keeping secret, but it was all the same. I’d always trusted Grayson, and his declaration that I was his mate shouldn’t change anything, even if I wasn’t ready to accept it.

“I’ve been here before,” I said, admiring the windows lined with dark-blue shutters.

Grayson nodded. “I’m not surprised—”

“No, I mean I’ve been hererecently.”
