I spread my legs, waiting to see what he would do. His eyes fell to my pussy, covered by my pants. His cock twitched.
Instead of being ashamed, I let myself feel what I wanted. I grabbed my breasts, imagining they were Axe’s hands. His dark eyes held mine, and he unbuttoned his pants, unzipped them, pulled out his veiny dark-red cock. He played with the tip, rubbing his finger across the hole, then pumped it hard. I lifted my shirt, keeping my eyes locked on him.
“Touch yourself,” he said. His words sent a chill down my spine. I inched the pants and underwear off of my hips, spreading my legs once again, dipping my fingers inside of my slit. The tenderness of my fingers made me shudder, and I used the moisture to play with my nipples. I might have been a virgin, but I knew what I liked.
“No,” Axe said, his voice low and husky. “Fuck yourself.”
A surge of energy clenched in my chest. He wanted me to dothat. I penetrated myself, matching his rhythm as we fucked ourselves, staring at each other. Axe wanted me, and I couldn’t decide how I felt. Was I grateful that he was giving me distance by keeping me inside of a cage? That he wasn’t giving in to his desire to take me? Was I ashamed that being confined like a prisoner turned me on? Or was it frustrating? That I wanted him to fuck menow, to get this stupid v-card over with? That I wanted him to take me like I knew he wanted?
Or would he kill me if he did?
That thought alone made me soak with desire, knowing that Axe had that much power over me. Life and death, none of it mattered to him, but when he looked at me, he knew what he wanted, and all I wanted was to hold onto that power over him. My dad was a monster. Maybe I was a monster too. Maybe wanting Axe like this proved that. Everything in my life was a lie, and maybe that made what I wanted okay. And I wanted Axe. And if that’s what I wanted, why couldn’t I have it?
CHAPTER 11
Axe
It became our habit. I made Demi fuck herself until she was exhausted each night, and while I wanted to uncage her—to let her spread herself out comfortably, at least during orgasm—I kept her locked inside. She had the power, and the conscience, to go to the police. No one would listen to her in Sage City, but she could seek help outside of our jurisdiction.
But did the knowledge of her father’s past change her opinion on what ‘justice’ was?
The sun never shined in the workroom, but my internal clock kicked me awake. I headed to Brackston in an SUV with a group of my men in tow. With Cannon out of the way, we had to act quickly. Eliminate as many of Muro’s men as we could before they changed tactics. And Derek wanted us to get rid of the computer servers.
A tall, skinny building with mirrored windows like aviator sunglasses, contained the Midnight Miles Headquarters. I had never seen Muro before. All I knew was that he wanted to kill our family, and had been willing to send armies into the woods to murder us.
Ron called me on the secure channel on our com-sets. “Ready, sir.”
While a decoy pretended to be a routine maintenance service at the checkpoint, we would have a few of our men break into the back of the building. Then, once they were done destroying the servers, the rest of us would attack.
It was simple. Figure out his capabilities. Get rid of them.
“All right,” I said. I scanned the building, looking up at the top floor, wondering if Muro was watching right then. My finger twitched, itching for Demi. What would her reaction be to an operation of this size? But my instincts had kept her locked inside. It was safer for her there.
The wall in front of me was big, but nothing I couldn’t scale. Once I heard our maintenance decoys pull up to the checkpoint on the earpiece, I motioned for my two men to head into the headquarters. They let themselves down over the wall, then headed to the back entrance of the building. I listened on the earpiece to our decoys; they were stuck at the front entrance, arguing with the guards.
“Air conditioning? We just had that serviced.”
“I have it here. See? Midnight Miles Corporation. Routine maintenance. Every second week—”
“Maybe your boss likes it cold.”
“I’d hate to see him get upset.”
“Status for the main hub?” I asked over the earpiece, referencing the servers. No response. I glanced around, looking for Ron, who gave me a thumbs up. But nothing happened. No one came out of the building, despite the two men breaking into the bottom floor. Derek had told me that they always had one guard on duty in that lobby. Why hadn’t I heard a bullet yet?
“Might take a minute, sir,” Ron said. But I could already tell from the tone of his voice that he knew something was up too. “Shall we start the second phase?”
Time ticked forward. My hand twitched against the trigger.
Then an explosion sounded, dull against the surrounding walls. My pulse quickened. Then a crash of bullets sounded and a swarm of men came out of the building.
“Shit!” one of my men shouted on the earpiece.
They lurched out, coming toward the wall, bullets flying in angry bursts. Three times the number of men we had. We blasted back, some of us scattering, using distance to split them up. They scaled the wall, coming after us.
“Come out you fuckin’ Adlers,” one of them said. I came out from cover and shot him in the head. Just then, a bullet grazed the side of my ear.
“Damn it!” Ron yelled.
