“I want to make you my wife,” I said. “Forever. In sickness and in health. In life and in death.” I pulled the ring out, offering it to her. “Flower, will you marry me?”

“Of course,” she said. “Of course. Of course, I will. I love you.” Tears poured out of her eyes, and I held her close.

“And I love you.”

We kissed each other hard, and an easiness floated through me. It was only a semester, but now we were going together. No one was getting left behind. And even if she hadn’t asked me, I knew in my heart that both of us would have still waited for each other.

But if Kora wanted me by her side, I was going to be there.

As she zipped up her bag, I smirked. “You know you’re marrying a no-one,” I joked.

Her cheeks turned red and she pulled me closer. “You’ve always been more than that to me.”
