The front door of the warehouse flew open. “I want him left alive. The council can deal with him. We’ve had enough death.” Calder said as he approached the scene.

“Fuck you! Kill me!” Shane shouted.

Calder stepped in front of Shane. Wyatt and Ethan flanked his sides. “You’d like to take the easy way out. Wouldn’t you?” he smiled. “Not this time.”

Shane spit in his face.

“You can try to piss me off all you want, but it won’t work.”

Mikah had to hand it to Calder, he was as calm as could be—not a single hair out of place. She, on the other hand, would have ripped his throat out in an instant. Her wolf itched for it, could almost taste his blood pouring down her throat, but she would not go against the Alpha’s orders. Calder was right. Death would be an easy way out—too easy.

“Collar this piece of shit and get him out of here.” Calder gave the command and turned to Mikah. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks for coming so quickly.”

Calder patted her shoulder. “That’s what I’m here for.”
