That was fine. He was content to lie there until he could move again, though by the time Todd handed him a glass of water, he’d managed to sit up.
“Better?”
He looked down into the tumbler. “Well, now I’m awake.”
Todd laughed. “You’re such a little shit sometimes.”
“You love it.”
Todd’s smile shifted to something less innocent. “I’d be more than happy to wake you up like that every single day.”
He couldn’t help the shudder. “Don’t know if I couldtakeevery single day.”Might be fun to try, though.
Todd leaned down and stole a kiss. “I’m going to grab a shower. I’ll let you finish coming back down.”
“Down from where?”
“You tell me, Z. You were completely gone for a while.” Another peck, and he headed into the bathroom.
Fazil leaned back against the headboard and sipped the water. He’d been higher than a kite. No one made him feel like Todd did.

After they’d cleaned up and gotten dressed, they headed out to Todd’s car. “We’ll pick up McDonald’s on the way,” Todd said. They’d spent too much time in bed to justify stopping at a sit-down place for breakfast.
“No mountainous hot chocolate?” Fazil stuck out his bottom lip.
“Not for horny little twinks who want cock in their ass first thing in the morning.” He smiled over at Fazil and unlocked the car.
A tiny blush touched Fazil’s cheeks. “I amnota twink.”
“Oh, you are.” Todd climbed into the car. Fazil followed suit on the other side. “I notice you didn’t say anything about not being horny.”
“Guilty.” A shrug and a devilish smile.
Todd swallowed a laugh, started the car, and they hit the road.
It was sunny and warm, and the mountain was out in full glory. Fazil craned his neck to follow it as they turned corners. “How long is this trip, anyway?”
“About two hours, if the traffic isn’t bad.” Todd headed toward the freeway. True to his word, he swung by a McDonald’s and ordered them breakfast sandwiches and coffee.
“Just like old times.” He handed Fazil the food.
Fazil looked into the bag. “I haven’t thought about those trips inyears.”
Neither had he. Another memory he’d tucked away. Between their junior and senior years, they’d day-tripped to the Jersey shore just about every weekend Todd could get away from the garage. They’d leave before light so they could spend as much time on the beach as possible. Mickey D’s had been their poison of choice back then.
“Different destination, though,” Fazil said.
True enough. “Ever get back to the shore?”
Fazil shook his head and dug out one of the sandwiches. “Too far away. I kept meaning to take some PTO and take Kris to Cape May, but...”
“... never any time?” He knew that from his own life.We should do thattoo often fell to the wayside. Todd gripped the wheel. He wouldn’t let that happen with Fazil.
“It was hard to coordinate schedules.” Paper crinkled as Fazil unwrapped Todd’s sandwich. “Sometimes I think I was a shit boyfriend to all my exes.”
“None of us are perfect. I bet you weren’t shit at all.” He gave Fazil a quick glance. “You weren’tthathorrible to me.”
