This is all he says for a minute or two as his sated body collapses on top of me, his face cradled in my neck, his warm breath fanning over me.

I stroke a hand along his spine, breathing in his musky, masculine scent and kissing his soft hair against my mouth. Preston slowly eases out and shifts to his side, his hand holding the base of the condom.

I am suddenly cold and feel the loss of him acutely. My pussy is sore, but left bereft and feeling so empty.

Preston nibbles my ear and kisses me along my sensitive skin, sending shivers down my body yet again.

“Was that okay?”

I can’t help the smile that forms across my lips as I turn and stare into his beautiful blue eyes.

“More than okay. That was perfect.”

Preston chuckles and nods his head. “Youare perfect.”

ChapterTwelve

Preston

The BNU campus turns into one gigantic festival grounds the week of Halloween. All the houses on Greek row are elaborately decorated and parties happen every weekend leading up to the night of All Hallows’ Eve.

I’d promised Brin I would do my best to come to her Sigma Kappa Alpha’s haunted mansion party at least one of the weekends it was open, although I’d already missed the first weekend and it wasn’t looking good for this weekend either.

We’d just gotten back from an away game in Rhode Island and were dropping our gear off at the arena.

“Yo, Dahl. What’s going on? You going to come out and drink with us at Delta Kai?”

I slam my locker shut and turn to see Aidan Holloway, a junior forward winger, already dressed and wearing his BNU Beacons letterman jacket and carrying a backpack over his shoulder, presumably filled with his dirty laundry.

I pick up my own duffle bag and swing it over my back. “Nah, dude. I got a thing with my girl tonight.”

Aidan’s eyebrows shoot skyward. “You got a girl? Since when?”

He thumps me on the back with a huge palm and chuckles as we walk out together down the hallway.

“It’s pretty recent.” I leave it at that because I’m not much in the mood for discussing my relationship with Brinly. I’m not sure if that’s what you’d even call it at this point, but it’s something. It’s more than just a hook-up.

“Is she hot? Into threesomes?”

I shoot him a crusty look and slug his arm. He laughs harder and lifts his hands innocently. “What, man? Just asking. I like to have fun.”

I’ve heard about a few guys last year who shared girls like that, but I had no idea Aidan was into it. Now I’m curious if he’s just sharing the girl with another dude or there are swords crossing.

We walk side by side down the corridor and out into the crisp fall night. The air has just turned and a shiver runs down my back as the wind whips through my jacket.

He bumps my shoulder. “So? Tell me about her. If you’re not willing to share, it must be serious.”

I’m not sure where to even begin how to explain how I feel about Brin. She’s not only the most gorgeous woman I’ve been with, but she’s smart and funny, and far too good for me. She’s like her name suggests—a virtuous and pure princess and I’m just a pauper.

I give him a conceding look. “Her name is Brinly Davis. She’s a junior and in Sigma Kappa Alpha. That’s where I’m going tonight. They’re hosting that charity haunted mansion.”

Aidan nods in understanding. “Right, right. I heard about that. In fact, I have a chick in my Anthropology class named Lola that I really want to get with. I think she’s in that house. Maybe I should go with you tonight.”

“Yeah, sure. You’re welcome to come if you want. I’m sure they won’t mind having a single hockey player on the premises. And Lola. I know her. She’s good friends with Brin.”

“Nice. You’ll have to do me a solid and introduce me to her. She keeps ignoring me every time I try to talk to her.”

We chat for a bit and I give him the location specifics before I head off toward my apartment. I check my phone and see a text from Brin.
