“No, but I’m sure you’ll find out soon enough. You being the true owner and all.” The Sage appreciated how keen she was. She already knew that the gem held some sort of power. He had no idea what it was or how strong it was, only that it was something special that would only work for Leviathan’s mate. “It has been passed down through every Great Sage for generations. Leviathan entrusted it to one of them, thinking he would never have a mate to give it to. I’m sure he will be pleased to see it again, and around your neck.”
Reiya smiled and nodded. “Thank you for keeping it safe. I will take good care of it.”
“And it will take care of you as well.” Grandpa Sage lifted his hand and motioned for her to follow him out of the room. “I will see you at the ceremony, my dear. This is an event that Iwouldn’t miss. A once in a lifetime opportunity. This is a part of dragon history, and I can’t wait to witness it.”
Reiya thanked him once more and then left to find the ladies who were waiting for her.
Reiya’s great grandmother had also molded her life force to something for a greater purpose. She gave up her life force, becoming part of the living barrier for Elysia in order to strengthen it. This made the barrier incredibly strong.
She wondered what the purpose of the sprite in the gem was. There must have been a reason that the sprite chose to mold its life force with it. What type of power might it have?
In any case, it was incredibly special. Not only was it a living gem, but it was also Lee’s gem. It was the gift he was to give his mate. She smiled softly as she walked down the hall. What were the odds that there would be a sprite in her gem? She was always meant to be Lee’s mate. All that was left was for her to mark him and accept him as her fairy prince.
They would be the future rulers of Elysia, and she would be blessing Lee with the gift of fairy sight. Since everything was out in the open now, she wasn’t going to hold back anymore either. She would never take another mate besides Lee. She would mark him and bestow a new power upon him. She wondered how much stronger it would make him, since he was already a strong deity.
She smiled as she saw the three girls waiting for her up ahead. Soon … soon, she would see Lee, and he probably had no idea what was about to happen during this ceremony. The Great Sage was right. She would be making history tonight.
Chapter 86 Public Acceptance
“That necklace looks like it belongs on your neck. It’s beautiful,” Ruby gushed as she noticed the sparkling gem.
“It sort of does belong on my neck,” Reiya giggled, not offering any other explanation.
“Okay, don’t be nervous, and just let Leviathan lead. We both went through this already, as you know. It’s actually … kind of ... special, and it wasn’t embarrassing at all,” Lila said as she thought back to her acceptance kiss.
Reiya nodded and smiled. She would let Lee lead, at first. But in her eyes, the acceptance kiss needed to go both ways.
“You ready?” Chelsie grinned and hooked arms with Reiya.
Chelsie had changed so much since she came here. She knew it had to do with her being with Brody. Ever since then, she’d become more tolerant of others, and her world had opened up. She was happier. Reiya smiled at her dear friend and nodded.
The four girls walked toward the party tents. Xander and Mason walked up and each took hold of their mates’ arms. Dex and Weston were also there. Dex offered his arm to Reiya, who took it with a wide smile. Weston extended his to Chelsie, who looked at him with a raised brow.
“Brody asked if I could please escort you in. I promise to keep my nasty dragon scent to myself.” He offered his arm to her with a wry smile.
To Reiya’s surprise, Chelsie giggled and nodded. “As long as you promise I won’t get your dragon musk on me, I’ll survive.” She linked arms with Weston and the four of them headed into the tented area.
As they entered, the crowd hushed, and all eyes were on Reiya, who subconsciously squeezed Dex’s arm. He smiled and glanced at her. Her eyes scanned over the area, catching sight of two familiar figures. Lee and Brody were standing in the very front of the dragons, Lee having just finished addressing them. She was curious as to why Brody would be standing up front at Lee’s side. She looked at Dex curiously, but he just smiled knowingly.
Soon, she was standing right in front of Lee. Their eyes met, and the world faded away. She was lost in his light blue crystals. The loving way he was gazing at her made her stomach do tinyflips. His hand reached out to her, and she took it with a smile, feeling the light tingling sparks of electricity shoot through her. Wow, did she really love this man. Their bond only continued to get stronger and stronger. Soon, it would be even more powerful. She would mark him and make him her fairy prince. A new power would be born tonight ... she could feel it. Something amazing was about to happen. He pulled her into him and wrapped his arm around her tightly, holding her flush against his skin. She watched as he nodded to Dex, then continued to smile down at her.
Her eyes flashed over to Brody, who also had Chelsie at his side now. She was still curious about that situation. She gave Lee a confused smile, which he just smiled wider at. He then looked over the crowd of dragons.
“Like I mentioned earlier, these are the two guardians who are in charge of protecting my mate. As such, their position is important. They will be ranked just below a king’s ranking.” A glint of evil flickered over his eyes. “Since this is a very special situation …” Reiya looked at him curiously, wondering what he was getting at. “I have decided that these two will show their commitment to each other at this time as well, sealing their position and their claim on each other as mates.” Lee grinned widely as the two of them looked at him in shock.
Serves them right for letting you wear that skimpy outfit the other day. They did it to mess with my head,Lee said smugly in Reiya’s mind.
You are so vindictive!Reiya smiled and shook her head.
Yes, when it comes to you, I am quite sinister. Now, let’s enjoy this moment of putting them on the spot.
“You want me to … mark her publicly?” Brody asked in a hushed tone as he cleared his throat nervously.
“Yes. It’s only natural. We need everyone to know that you two are mated as well. And, since you hold a high position, it is necessary,” Lee said, a smirk resting on his face.
“That’s a dragon thing, though,” Chelsie said, mortified.
“Technically, you’ll be living among us dragons, so it’s only appropriate you uphold our traditions,” Xander said, coming to Lee’s aid.
