“You definitely need a time-out,” Eli says as he rounds the table.

Luke stands behind me, his breath scorching my neck. Keeping the flames rising within me. I want to turn and find my way back to his lips and that feeling that had been rising within me. My body sways toward him.

“Nope, come on, little nympho. Time to go to our locker.” Caden wraps his arm around my shoulders and drags me away. I glance over my shoulder to see Eli talking in Luke’s ear.

Luke’s gaze scorches me through before I look forward again.

I take a few deep breaths, and things inside me cool a little. Reason floods me. Fuck, what was that? My insides are still all weird feeling as Caden opens his locker and switches out my books. The others don’t follow us.

“Hey,” Caden says softly. He brushes my cheek with his knuckle. “You okay?”

“Me? Yeah, sure, why wouldn’t I be okay?” Just because I almost dry-humped Luke in the cafeteria. I’m fine. Peachy. One hundred percent golden.

Caden kisses me, and I return to the present. To the guy in front of me. To the softest kiss I’ve ever received.

Something inside me cracks open a little bit as I gaze up into his green eyes.

“Luke can be overwhelming when he wants something, little nympho.” Caden hands me my backpack I hadn’t even noticed he carried here. “It may be best for you to stay grounded this weekend and not try to sneak out like he wants you to. I can’t believe I’m even saying this, but he’ll cool down by Monday.”

My brows furrow as I search Caden’s eyes. “Why would you tell me this?”

“Because I want to play with you, Harper, and Luke might just get you into more trouble, which means longer before I can play with you.” Caden kisses me again, but this time he pushes me back into the lockers and takes my mouth with his. My hands thread into his hair to hold him close. When he lifts his mouth from mine, I try to follow, lifting onto my tiptoes. He gives me a cocky smile. “I’ll walk you to class.”

Wrapping his arm around my shoulders, he leads me to my class before slapping me on the ass at the door. “See you later, little nympho.”

I blow out a breath. These guys are going to be the death of me.

I take my seat and wait for Luke to appear. Right before the bell rings, he walks in. He gives me a heated look before he drops into his seat.

Yup, death of me.

CHAPTER 19

The Compromise

Luke

Practice is short since we have a game tomorrow. Eli wants to talk before we turn on the webcams with Harper tonight. I know what he wants to talk about, but I have it under control. Fuck, mostly.

We all roll up to my house and go down to the rec room in the basement. Dad is out of town, so we have the house to ourselves. My rec room isn’t as extravagant as Caden’s, but I have a pool table.

I rack up a game as the guys get settled. Eli grabs a stick and chalks the end.

“Are we going to talk about this?” Eli asks, leaning against the wall as I grab my stick.

I line up to break. “No.”

“You need to step away. We can deal with Harper for a few days.” Eli’s words are soft. He’s not angry with me. We just know each other’s limits. And for some reason, Harper is pushing mine.

“Worried I might break our toy before you get a chance to?” I break the balls, and two stripes go into the pockets. I straightenand chalk the pool stick’s tip as I watch Eli. “She’s just another virgin.”

As if Harper could be more than that. She’s the last. Yes, we own her, but that’s all.

I pocket two more stripes before I miss, and Eli steps forward to work on the solids.

“She’s not like the others,” Caden pipes up after taking a long drag from his bottle of beer. He rests his head back on the couch and closes his eyes. “She’s not as hardened.”

“She hid from us for three years. She knows who we are and what we do. It’s not like she’s naive.” I watch the solid go into the corner pocket.
