“Hey, hey, hey,” a leather-clad biker interrupted me right on cue as I headed towards the glossy black door. Probably painted that colour to hide the bloodstains. “You can’t go in there.”

Devil stepped in front of me, familiar enough that I didn’t immediately knee him in the balls, but I didn’t know quite what to make of him. Mostly, I’d seen him brooding in the rec room, staring into a pint as if it held the answers of the universe. He had unkempt, long hair a pale shade of blonde, and soulful eyes that always seemed a little wounded even when he was pissed off. Tyb was usually the one doing the pissing off.

I crossed my arms over my chest. “Alright then,” I agreed, a little cocky, a lot smug. “Stop me.”

I stepped around him and headed for the door, and he bit back a groan turned growl. I’d put my marks on the throats of the presidentandenforcer of his boy band, and he couldn’t do shit to stop me. We both knew it.

“Tyb will fucking kill me if I let you in there,” he protested, jogging to catch up to me. “Have some mercy, Mira.”

I slid a glance at the alpha, not proud to say I enjoyed scaring him. “Miraya.”

“Have some mercy, Miraya. Please. He’ll cut my balls off and use them to strangle me.”

“Oof.” I aimed a wince in his direction. “Better say your goodbyes and make the most of the time you have left with your precious jewels.”

He groaned, jumping in front of me to block the door. His hands remained very pointedly at his sides, like he knew grabbing me was a bad idea for three reasons. Tyb would have his balls, Prodigy would break his nose, and I’d finish the job. “I can’t let you in there. You don’t understand—”

“There’s a guy strung up, being tortured daily?” I batted my lashes. “You’re right, I’m just a sweet, sheltered little omega.”

“Jesus, you’re a female Tybalt.”

I grinned. “Thank you very much.”

Devil muttered something rapid under his breath. Was he… praying?

“Good luck, buddy,” I said, and slipped around him, pulling the door wide enough to slip through.

His prayers rose in volume as I descended the set of dark stairs on light feet, a giddy thrill in my belly when Tybalt’s voice floated up to me, followed by Prodigy’s.

My way was lit by a single lightbulb, and then when I reached the bottom, two other bare bulbs dangling from the concreteceiling. Prodigy whipped around to see who’d disturbed them, Tybalt already glaring as he faced the steps. It did my bruised soul wonders to watch that scowl instantly soften, to see his eyes crinkle as he smiled.

“Hi,” I said, jumping off the bottom step.

“Hi, warrior,” Tyb replied with a little laugh, the creases settling deeper around his eyes. “Didn’t I tell you not to come to this place?”

I widened my eyes. “Did you? I had hazy heat brain, remember?”

“Yeah, a likely fucking story.”

I beamed up at Prodigy when he closed the distance between us, his hand splaying over my hip, a kiss finding my forehead. “This is no place for a ray of light, Miraya.”

I shrugged. “Thought I’d brighten the place up a bit. Oh, and I think I scared the shit out of your… driver?”

“Road captain,” Devil huffed, his shoes scuffing the steps as he neared. “I tried to stop her.”

Tyb snorted. “How did that work out for you?”

“I warned her you’d have my balls, and she told me to say my goodbyes.”

Prodigy’s laugh rumbled through the room, his thumb stroking my waist. “It’s fine, Devil. Keep your balls, and close the door behind you.”

I pressed my face to Prodigy’s shoulder, my smile impossible to contain. I’d half expected them to convince me to leave, but even as the pitiful bastard strung up on the wall across from us moaned, my alpha’s grip never lessened on me. He seemed to be gulping down my scent, like I greedily soaked up his.

“Missed you, Miraya,” Prodigy said, like he’d read my mind and knew what I was going to say.

I lifted my head just enough to kiss him, slow and tender but still scorching hot, because everything my alphas did was hot.

“Hey, where’s my kiss?” Tybalt demanded.
