She gasps as I push on her hips, bringing her down harder on top of me.
“Seth!”
“That’s it, baby, we’ll go easy.”
Pulling herself tight against me, she wraps her arms around my shoulders as I thrust up into her. Our breathing grows deeper and our mouths lock. She moans into my mouth as I grunt into hers. Keeping one hand wrapped around her waist, I put the other on my bike’s gas tank to steady us. Breaking free to catch her breath, she shivers as she pants in my ear.
Keeping her balanced on top of me, I slip out of my jacket and wrap it around her back, covering her bare ass. Reaching around her but inside my jacket, my hands find her bottom and my fingers dig into her flesh.
As exposed as we are out here, nothing has ever felt so private and intimate.
“Seth,” she whispers. “I can’t hold on anymore.”
Wrapping both arms around her, I feel her muscles clench and tighten around my rod.
Pressing my mouth to her ear, I mumble, “Let go, baby. Let go.”
Dropping her head back, she releases with such a strong shiver, I can’t hold off anymore either. My muscles tighten and my jaw clenches as I plant my feet on the dirt and rock ground. Lifting us both up, I give a few final thrusts, burying myself deep inside her.
“Fuck, Holly!”
Finally, with one last grunt, we release together.
Letting go fully, she falls forward against me and hangs on me like a piece of limp spaghetti. Shit. Did I push too far? Sitting back down, I take her by her shoulders and look into her eyes.
“Holly, baby, you okay?”
A beautiful smile sweeps across her face. “Yes, Seth. I have never felt better in my life.”
Chapter Sixteen
Holly
“How about coffee and bagels?” I smile at Seth as he unlocks the door to my clinic. He seemed relaxed and at peace on our ride back, but as soon as we crossed the border into Greenville, I could actually feel the change in his body. He became stiffer, and it’s like every muscle in his body is on alert. Now, he’s downright sullen. “Seth? You okay?”
“Yeah, sorry. Just… just give me a second.” Doubling back to his bike, he grabs something out of what looks like a small storage compartment. Turning back to me, he fiddles with the waistband of his jeans as he walks forward.
Pushing my front door open, he nods for me to go first. As soon as I step inside, he moves ahead of me and starts canvassing the main floor.
“What are you doing?”
“Holly.” Sighing, he looks deep into my eyes. “I told you those Dogs are bad news. I want to make sure no one broke in while we were away.”
“Oh.” I can feel my brows furrowing as I think about someone breaking in here and walking around like they own the place. Because they don’t own it. I do.
Although he’s a big guy, Seth moves lightly on his feet. He climbs to the second floor, and looking up, I can tell where he is by the sounds of closet doors opening and closing. Then I hear him rush up the stairs to the third floor and then nothing. It’s quiet as he moves around the upper area. I hate that he feels he has to do this, but I refuse to let this ruin my mood. My stomach grumbles its approval.
“Bagels,” I mutter, looking over the mass of boxes and cleaning I need to tackle today. “Bagels and lots of coffee.”
For a moment, I consider dashing up the street to the bodega to surprise Seth with breakfast, but at the thought of leaving, an uneasiness swirls in my belly. Maybe there’s something to what he’s saying.
Damn it. Taking a deep breath, I exhale. Now those damned Unchained Dogs are starting to bug me. I shouldn’t be uncomfortable in my own home—if that’s what this is eventually going to be—and they have no right to take over an area that isn’t theirs. I should get coffee—but no. It’ll worry Seth. Damn. There goes my good mood. Now I’m getting downright grumpy. Hopefully, the coffee will fix that.
While I wait for Seth, I pick up my phone and call the bodega on the corner that has the fabulous, strong coffee.
“Hi, Roman? It’s Holly. Could I please get a delivery this morning? Two plain bagels with cream cheese and four coffees.”
“A long day?” he asks. As he speaks, I can picture his white smock and smile to myself. Glancing up, I hear Seth moving around the second floor again. “I think so, Roman. I think so.”
