about him.¡±

¡°Okay, fine, whatever. Even if hypothetically, you¡¯re right and all I need is to get laid

by some random guy,¡± I said, ¡°I can assure you I¡¯m not going to be meeting him in my

office.¡±

Ellen smirked. ¡°She says that now. Wait ¡®till she sees him.¡±

She and Lizzie both giggled like they were back in high school and this man was the

new hot kid in class. I rolled my eyes. As if this guy was somehow going to be so hot, that

he was going to snap me out of my depression.

There was a knock on my door followed by Kelly saying, ¡°Doctor Parks? Isaac and

Buddy are with me for their appointment.¡±

¡°Great, send them in,¡± I said with my back to the door, taking one last glance at

Buddy¡¯s paperwork in case I missed anything important. When I heard the door open,

footsteps shuffled inside, then the door shut, I began to turn on my toe and say, ¡°Hi,

Trying to save myself from embarrassment, I pretended to cough into my elbow before

gently clearing my throat and patting my chest. ¡°Whoa, excuse me. Choked on my coffee.¡±

He seemed to accept my lie and gave me a polite smile. ¡°I¡¯m Doctor Samantha Parks. But

you can call me Samantha, or Sam. Or Sammy. Or¡ anything.¡± His smile grew and I

began feeling warm, praying I wasn¡¯t blushing.

God, his face was perfect. Like a piece of architecture, his jawline chiseled with perfect

angles and symmetrical. He must have spent a lot of time outside because his skin was

tanned but the complexion was glowing, like his skin thrived in the heat. Even though I

grew up in Arizona, I couldn¡¯t spend more than an hour outside without getting burnt.

¡°Hello, Samantha. I¡¯m Isaac.¡± The way he said my name sounded so smooth coming
