“Jade,” he moaned, his fingers tightening in my hair. I loved the way he said my name, low and almost desperate. I pressed my thighs together to try and ease my arousal, swirling my tongue around Crow’s cock and doing my best to push him closer to the edge.

Then, suddenly, he pulled away. I was left kneeling on the floor, breathing heavily, blinking through the involuntary tears of having a cock bumping against the back of my throat. His hand was still in my hair, and he moved it so his palm was cupping my cheek.

“Did I do something wrong?” I asked, pushing my hair out of my face. I couldn’t understand why he had pushed me off.

“I was… too close,” he said.

I frowned. “Uh, yeah? That was the fucking point, stupid.” I crossed my arms, put out at being interrupted in my task, and leaned forward to take him back into my mouth. He dodged, huffing a laugh, and then I was in the air. I could feel all his lovely muscles flexing and shifting around me as he held me up to pepper kisses along my neck.

“I didn’t want to come yet,” he murmured, nipping at the sensitive skin at my collar and making me moan. “I had something more fun in mind.”

“Oh yeah?” I asked. I could feel my heart fluttering in my chest, the soaked fabric of my panties between my thighs. He grinned at me, all sharp teeth, and threw me onto the couch. I landed with a thud, and immediately, he was hovering over me, claiming my mouth in a scorching kiss as he raked his hands down my body. I arched, gasping, into the dull pleasure and pain, and his fingers hooked into the waistband of my shorts. I moaned as he nibbled the skin of my throat between his teeth, showing me attention in all the ways Ray never did.

I froze, eyes flying open.

Oh fuck.

Ray.

Myboyfriend.

What the fuck was I doing?

Nausea made my stomach clench, and I pushed at Crow’s shoulders frantically. Again he backed off immediately, which only added to my confusion. Ray never took me seriously when I pushed at him. I scrambled out from underneath Crow and ran for the front door, ignoring Crow’s shouting.

Chapter Eleven

Crow

I caught Jade just before she ran out the front door. I picked her up, kicking the door closed before anyone walking past could see my dick. I carried her back into the living room, even as she struggled.

“What—” I grunted as one of her elbows caught me in the side of the head. “—thefuck, Jade?” I asked as I dropped her back onto the couch. I backed off, hands up to show I wasn’t going to make her do anything she didn’t want to. I grabbed my jeans, pulling them on without boxers to make sure I was decently dressed as fast as possible in case she decided to try to run off again. Jade was rigid on the couch, staring down at her lap. Her hands were trembling as she braided and unbraided her dark hair.

“I need to leave,” she said, over and over again.

“No.” I put my foot down even as she shook her head. “No, Jade, not until we talk about whatever the fuck just happened.”

“Nothing happened, it was nothing!” Jade’s fingers were still twisting themselves into knots, faster now, and she didn’t look up at me. I was grateful, because I wasn’t sure what my expression was, and I didn’t want her to see how much her words had hurt me. They had felt like a sucker punch, worse than what Tank had said the other day. The first woman since Jeannie that I’d… and she’d… it was nothing? I forced my face to be blank as I stared at her.

“Nothing?” I asked, just to be sure. She looked up then, her panicked expression shifting momentarily into regret.

“That’s not what I… I mean… oh God,” she groaned, burying her face in her hands. She rocked back and forth slightly, and I could see her nails digging into her scalp. Absurdly, I wanted to pull her hands away, make sure she wasn’t hurting herself. At the same time, I wasn’t sure what would happen if I touched her, so I let her be.

“This is so screwed up,” she muttered as I stared at her. “I’mso screwed up. Fuck, how did I let this get so out of hand…?”

“Jade!” I finally snapped. “What the fuck are you talking about?”

“You need to know it’s okay to move on from Jeannie,” she said, looking up at me earnestly. Her green eyes were huge. “But it can’t be with me. It can’t be.”

“Shut up,” I whispered. I regretted asking her to tell me what was going on. I wished I let her fucking run away. “Shut the fuck up, and get out of my house.”

“Crow…” Despite her earlier escape attempt, Jade was making no effort to leave. She reached out for me, but I pulled away. My lips peeled back in a snarl.

“I said get the fuck out!” I was almost shouting now. Jade cringed back, shrinking in on herself and biting her lip. I felt nauseous, restless, like I wanted to hit something. I didn’t understand.

“You know you—you’re fucking bipolar, you know that?” I demanded when she still didn’t move. “You want to blow me, but you want to be loyal to your boyfriend, and then you need to leave, but now I can’t get you out of my goddamn house! Make up your fucking mind!” My chest was heaving when I was done shouting, and Jade was watching me with big eyes. I wiped my hands over my face, backing away from her. I needed some distance between us. My mind was chaos, thoughts tripping over themselves as I tried to make sense of everything that was happening.

“That’s not fair,” she said quietly. She had returned to looking at her lap, and her hands rested on her knees, balled into fists so tight her knuckles were white.
